Grip...

Hi folks,

Wee question:

Are clay court shoes grippier on a hardcourt?

By a quirk of vendor mixup, I got the K Swiss Hypercourt Supreme Clay shoes (instead of the hardcourt version I ordered). I play exclusively on hard courts.
Since day 1, noticed they were the squeakiest shoes I have ever owned. I mean, really loud on the courts I play.
Cannot slide and the knee gets jammed when trying to stop hard, no hint of a slide at all.

I fell today and wondered if the shoes were (partly) to blame.

Is it a thing? Are clay court shoes too grippy on a hardcourt?
Or is it this shoe in particular? All in my head (and sore body)?

Thanks.

there’s no issue, the soles will just wear out faster. you can def slide with them on a hardcourt, if anything maybe its just the wrong shoe for you?

You're probably right.

I'm usually a big K Swiss fan but these Supremes are more narrow/snug and actually make my feet numb.
Otherwise feels like a solid, stable shoe.

Switched to the 796v3 and the drop in quality is noticeable... (I know it's budget/mid-range shoe)

same here had a few pairs of the kwiss ultrashot. just ended up not being best shoe for me. or its the actual hardcourt you’re playing on…even w the nice indoor facilities the pros are on a perfect surface to slide all the time. i could have rollerskates and have a hard time sliding on some outdoor courts near me. its def not you personally though…its prob a combo of the shoe/court
