Ground strokes side-view (video clip)

Here are my ground strokes from a side-view.
I can definitely hit back but the problem is when he hits it at an angle with heavy top spin, I do my running forehand (which I can get back 40-50% of the time) or running backhand (25%). A big issue with this is that when he makes me run for it, I usually put it right back to him instead of trying to put it deep, down the line, or deep crosscourt. My backhand suffers tremendously with shoulder-height balls. I really have to work on those.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions in advanced.

you are pushing your arms, both fh and bh.

the swing should feel like a 'sling', instead of a 'lift and push'.

this is why on a wide ball you can do nothing about it... and i bet $5 that you have trouble with high balls also (maybe not the king that your beginner friends feed you, but on real high kicking balls loaded with spin, your lift and push stroke can put nothing on the ball.

a simple drill, is to just sling your arms very relaxed around your body, with weight shift and body pivot, feel the centrifugal force tugging on your shoulder sockets.

the 'tug' is what you should feel thru out the swing, (back swing and forward), if you lose the 'tugging' feel, that means you have lost momentum in the arms, and you are just lifting it into the ball.

Thanks
I did notice that I wasn't fully extending my arm out and timing the shoulder/body turn with the swing so I can get that centrifugal force, but it was hard to practice when the guy is expecting me to hit it back to him. I really need to practice it next time.

Hard to watch you while the next court is warming up.
You need to practice YOU against two baseliners, so you can hit DTL and CC's, and NOT hit up the middle.
You're jumpy, meaning you're afraid to hit long. Use more radical grips on both sides, longer strokes, smoother swing, don't jump, and especially don't lean backwards.
