Head Pro Tour 630, thought he did switch to the LM Fire tour edition (temporarily I think)....Grip L2 with two tournagrips wrapped over the bare handle. I am pretty sure he used a Alu power full setup early on in his career.

Try doing a search for more info...

He tried the Ti. Heat Pro Edition and the LM Instinct for a very brief time. Other than that it was the Pro Tour 630 except for his last couple of tournaments when Guga used the MG Radical MP.

Guga's Backhand

Guga learned that backhand from Oscar Wegner. He told Oscar he wanted to hit the 1hbh the way Oscar did, so Oscar taught it to him.

So he CAPped the Ti.Fire????

Btw, He used Kirschbaum strings for a while, and people in Brazil were crazy about this string brand when he started making success.

Not sure what made me say LM fire, but it was definitely the Ti fire pro edition. The crossbar has been hidden by Guga's hand in the pic.

That Ti. Fire Pro Edt (not the TOUR edt,, big difference!!) is the best racket i have used so far! Regret it like hell that I sold my 5 fire´s back in 2001. I also capped them with the Pro Tour CAP system and it was the bomb!

My understanding was that the Ti. Fire Guga used was actually the Pro Tour he always used--except Head added the cross-bar into the frame as a marketing stint to sell/promote the Ti. Fire to the general public.

Second, I don't remember Guga ever using Kirschbaum. Do you mean Luxilon?

So he never played with iPrestige/PT57E...only Pro Tour 630/PT57A.

Actually, I am wondering when the did paint jobs started to be used?

Previous line before the iPrestige, was the Pro Tour 630 (the blue one that Muster and Guga were using), right?

So when iPrestige/PT57E was released, nobody used it? They all used Pro Tour 630 under the iPrestige paintjob?

i think i remember hearing something like this as well... head pro tour 630 w/ whatever the paintjob of the day was: head ti radical, head ti fire, i.prestige, etc...

Marketing or not, that Ti. Fire Pro Edition hit like an absolute DREAM! Seriously, anyone that still has one (or a batch of them) is quite possibly the luckiest person in the tennis world.

Agree with Say and Hank. A friend of mine was playing with it some years back, and when I hit with it my jaw dropped. Fantastic feel, control and excellent balance! What a dream racket! :)

I played with Ti Fire just a bit. Found it very metallic and harsh. I suspect it had very dead poly but still....

Very small grip, like a size 1/8 or 1.

Believed he used a 3/8 with no replacement grip, just an overgrip or two over bare handle.

One of the reasons he could create so much spin and wrist action.

Similar in a way to Rafa´s 4 1/4 grip with one overgrip.
