Gut / poly hybrid - same tension or differential?

cowboy - nat. gut will string up much higher and still be very arm friendly.

I am 69 and string mine at 62 lbs. M, 56/57 lbs crosses (poly).

I would def. string the gut at at least 55 in the mains, but that's just me.

54 Lbs is way too high for almost any poly....unless you are a pro. No need to go that high in my view

In general, I would agree with you. Especially if the poly were in the main. I went with that tension based on the last hybrid I strung with a multi in the main. It felt too launchy at 54/50, and I understand that the mains have the most impact on comfort. So I went a little higher at 57. Having the poly cross at 50 seemed like too big of a difference between M and C.

This was strung on a lockout machine, so final tension was probably more like 55/52, but I record everything by where I set the machine (so 57/54). I also expect the NG to hold tension and the poly to lose it.
