Tadeja was on a real roll this winter, coming within one match (that Port St. Lucie ITF final) of winning three tournaments in a row. She lost to Sharon Fichman in that match, but she was playing some awfully good tennis then. Heidi has played IHB for a few years now, so I feel pretty confident she'll be back if she is healthy, but that is the question mark with her this year. She has only played three matches so far in 2013, since jumping up to no. 158 at the end of last year. Starting next week she has to defend points from two ITF titles in a row (Jackson, Pellham), so her ranking is going to plummet fast. Hopefully she can get healthy and find the form she had last Spring. I think I remember you telling me that on Tennisforum last year when the DC tournament was going on, just before she played the "Tornado." Aravane is my favorite, and I miss her terribly. I got to meet her three years in a row in Miami and even drove to Clearwater last year to give her a banner I made for her Birthday at a tournament where she was playing. She has had a hip injury which has kept her out for a long time, and when she played the Paris indoor earlier this year I think she aggravated the injury by coming back too soon and wound up staying out another month or so. This week she just returned to the court at an ITF in France, but after winning a first round match lost to Julie Coin today in R2. Small steps, but it will take her awhile to shake off the rust from such a lengthy time away from the game. She says on her Twitter she is working hard and motivated to return to her best form. You'll have to tell me who you get to drive around this year!
