i'm not voting because this match is already in progress....but i had thoughts of davydenko winning in 5

somehow i am not surprised that even after being up 2 sets to 1, and davydenko won those 2 sets pretty easy, haas is looking to force a 5th set

but he just broke haas' serve so its davydenko serving at 1-2 4th set

potential nadal-davydenko semifinal....would mean top 3 seeds made it to the semis

I still like Davydenko's chances in the crucial 5th set. To me it looks like he let off the gas once he got down and is saving himself for the 5th.

Well he won in 5 at the AO, but I'm not so sure about this one since Haas has the momentum at the moment. At the USO Davydenko was on a roll the last 3 sets, so the 5th there was never in doubt really.
50:50 here.

now you see.

Now I see what? I was out for the last 40 minutes, just got back to see its now in the fifth...In any case, I saw earlier that Haas didn't have much success at the net, but that was because Davy came up with A level passes most of the time. I don't think you can deny that Haas' net game is much better than Davy's.

First break chances to Davy, but he missed with a crappy unforced bh error. I hope this doesn't come back to haunt him.

Arrggg . . . why isn't THIS match on ESPN right now?

Seriously. I just sat through two TAPE DELAYED womens QF matches while this is going on. Now ESPN is running a simultaneous broadcast of ESPN News (which is it's own channel). I love ESPN as a non-tennis network, but this is ticking me off.

It sucks that Davydenko choked, not so much because I like him but because of what it now means. Haas is such an incredably easy opponent for Nadal the semi wont even be worth watching. Davydenko atleast would have given Nadal a good match. I dont know why any of you are excited Haas won since it means a crummy semifinal unless that is what you were hoping for, a joke of a semifinal matchup.

"so it indeed will be another fed-nadal final. time for fed to prove himself again."

Ain't gonna happen. Gonzo is taking the topsin monkey down. Why does Federer need to prove himself? Nadal hasn't been in a final since Wimbly!

.......Haas is such an incredably easy opponent for Nadal the semi wont even be worth watching. ........

Yeah, Haas has not won a set off Raf yet, but are you really not going to watch? That's just ridiculous, man. I'd love to see that matchup just to see if Tommy can finish points or to see Raf run like a deer.

If it's Gonzalez (who has beaten Nadal), I think I'll tune in just for the BH to BH fests.

Can you believe ESPN? They were showing the two women's QF's on tape delay while this great men's 5-set QF was being played live!

Now that they have time before the Nadal-Gonzo match, what do they do? Replay the women's matches again that we just got done watching instead of showing us some of the Haas-Davydenko match!!! What is wrong with ESPN?????

A Haas-Nadal matchup sucks. I like Haas but he has nothing in his game that worries Nadal, it is a joke matchup, why would I want to watch a boring rout for Nadal against an incredably easy opponent for him to play. Atleast Davydenko would have given Nadal a decent match, I am sure of that, probably still would have lost but a match worth watching. Haas-Nadal is worth going to the fridge for while it is on since it will be an ugly rout for Nadal.

Actually, I think Gonzo doesn't match up too well against Nadal. That slice backhand will get him into trouble, and his racquet is too light to harness Nadal's spin.

Haas, on the other hand, could surprise Nadal. People forget that Haas was #2 in the world 4 years ago before his run of injuries. And this is the first time since then that he is playing at that level again.
