Haas vs Tursunov : 3 set battle

They are about to go 3 sets.

After the 1st game Haas was telling the chair umpire how can he be one of the best, as he should be taken off the chair because he is terrible. Haas has been blasting him a few more times. Very funny comments from Haas, and Im very surprised he did not get a warning.

Did anyone else hear Haas bashing the umpire?

Haas is pretty terrible himself. Never lived up to expectations so maybe hes really talking about himself even though hes taking it out on the umpire..

Tursunov needs to keep his first serve percentage up to win. He lets it drop way to much- sometimes below 55%. If I were his coach I would place high priority on a 65+% first serve percentage for each set. Accomplish this anyway possible. Also, slice when stretched wide on the backhand(ralley or return), he can't give up too much court. Otherwise, he'll be swinging at air instead of landing a big running forehand. Maybe a some looping to his backhand could mess him up like Nadal. I would also like to see him chip and charge on the first return game against Federer- surprise him before he gets his rythym. Then, first serves damn it!

if tursunov plays today like against haas, he won´t have a chance against roger. he gave haas so many easy points and made so many unforced errors, when tommy was mentally down, he cant do that against roger.

Agreed! Dima is a very high risk player with nearly no margin for error - against Federer he needs to play a little more safe, if he wants to have a chance. I don't think he can play at a high enough level and keep his UE's low enough for 2 or 3 sets, though.

Haas is getting back to his usual meltdowns he had throughout his career. I wonder why he can't stay focused for a whole match.

well, in the interview he said he already was pissed off and slighty frustrated in the beginning of the match, because his match had been shifted from the centre court to a "outside court" (grandstand?) with a bad atmosphere in his eyes. He also complaint about not having his coach (tomas hogstedt) with him in toronto, hogstedt rather stayed in sweden for some tv thing.
no excuses at all, but unprofessional
