Name dropper! Did you run into any 80’s-updated Penny Lane types or perhaps I should ask,”How many Penny Lanes did you meet?”2. Sticking with L.A.:
The Whisky a Go Go, the Roxy, the Viper Room, the Troubadour, the Wiltern, the Hollywood Bowl
I missed the wild days of the Sunset Strip. There was the hipster/hippie scene in the 1960s with bands like Love and the Doors, the wild groupie scenes with bands like Led Zeppelin in the 1970s, then harder excesses in the mid-to-late 1980s with bands like Guns N’ Roses. My days going to these venues began at the very end of the 1980s, but was mostly during the 1990s. I did get to meet some interesting people, mostly at the Viper Room. The closest to an "Almost Famous" scene was comical and completely non-sexual, and had the Penny Lane element of women taking pitty on me. A music agent friend of mine in the mid-1990s had me on the list for an Electrafixion (former Echo & the Bunnymen members Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant) show at the Viper Room, and we were supposed to meet at the Rainbow Bar & Grill (made famous for debauchery by Led Zeppelin 20+ years earlier). He was running late and I got drunk on whiskey with guys at the bar and agreed to meet him at the show. I showed up at the Viper Room really drunk, couldn't find him, and was waved over by a bunch of girls who took pitty on me. They squeezed me in the middle of the circle of seating with a girl on my lap. They were the girlfriends of the band, and Courtney Love was briefly with them. My friend spotted me at the table as the only guy packed in with a bunch of attractive girls in sexy outfits, and thought it was pretty funny.Name dropper! Among other shows saw a rather odd but called enjoyable billing. The group, Renaissance, opened for comic, Steve Martin in the 1970s

Ariana Grande is also a soprano with a vocal range of ~4 octaves where Kelly Clarkson is a third or so greater than 3 octaves. Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey also have vocal ranges that are 4 octaves or greater.6. Kelly Clarkson
before she was an american idol winner, she was a scholarship receiving classically trained soprano

-agree, she is young!!Grande is an amazing vocalist, but for some reason I find none of her songs memorable. Someone needs to hook her up with a Dr. Luke or Max Martin song.
4. She has more plastic than a Corvette - pass..
I would say the very same thing about many pop vocalists of the past several decades. In 30+ years, ppl will still remember the music of MJ and The Beatles but will they be humming or remembering the music of Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, AG & numerous othersGrande is an amazing vocalist, but for some reason I find none of her songs memorable...
