Hand fed or Racquet

Which type of feeds are more beneficial to developing a stroke? Looking to make sure technique is correct? Also for generating good head speed through the ball?

I'm a big fan of hand feeds, mainly because I have a lot of trouble convincing someone to feed me balls for an hour straight.

Side bar: any ball machine users out there know how configure the settings on theirs to simulate hand feeds? Maybe situate the machine on same side of the net as yourself?

Hand feeds are good at the start as you get the technique down. At first you want the hand feeds perfect so you don't have to move, but then you want to progress so they're slightly different and you have to adjust your feet, making sure to keep good form. Once you've got the hang of that, then progress farther back. You will get the most effective practice if the person feeding you has done hand feeding before and knows the nuances of it, as well as has a good eye for technique.
