Happy 30th Anniversary HEAD Prestige On Tour Since 1986

Like it better now. More polarized, less 10 gr, more headlight and maneuverable, easier to serve... I think also that the RA went down by a margin.
I see. I just dont like polarized setups (played once or twice GPMP taken for 5min. from friend of mine) and at 340gr unstr. it's more stable for volleys and half-volleys; I like it much more than 320gr IGPMP.

Ok, I tested the new mid today and I must admit it's fun to play and the best racket I've tested in the last 6 years. I'm going to buy one!

Maybe you would like to buy last real Mid (aka Last Mohican i.e. Youtek Innegra Mid) just to test it before buying any Graphene? My last one I bought few months ago for c.a. $30. It was used but because of full CAPs there are only minor scratches and you got racquet in price of NatGut set :)

P.S. it is the best fake prestige so far in my view (fake = all other prestiges other than the original 93 inch). I just wanted to share the result of my testing session. I play Prestige only since 1991. I had a lot of fun with the new one. Although it took me 20 minutes or so to get used to it.

... and you broke all of them? If not why to bother with G.? :)
Well, good question. To be honest I had a lot of fun with the new racket. It is an additional stick to play around with :) It has some advantages over my old Prestiges. However I will always keep my classic frames and play with them. :)

Its now the 30th anniversary of the 1986 launch of the Original Prestige Pro in Europe and the TXP in the USA. The first player I remember using the Prestige Pro was Henri Leconte at the 1986 French. He had a great run. The only Professional I remember using the TXP paint job was Derrick Rostagno. Its amazing how popular the Prestige became, the most popular racquet on the ATP Tour in the 90's with players such as Rosset, Ivanisavic, Muster, The Sanchez Brothers, Wheaton, Boetsch, Philippoussis, Goellner, Stoltenberg, I could go on and on with all the players that have used the Prestige in the 90's. In the 2000's it had tremendous success in the hands of Marat Safin winning the 2000 U.S. Open and 2005 Australian Open with his Prestige Classic 600. Even today the original Prestige Mid is seeing success in the hands of today's players such as Tobias Kamke and Robin Haase.Leconte's Semifinal run at the 1986 French Open with the Original Prestige Pro

How many graphite racquets can say they have been in use continuously on the ATP since 1986.
The title of this thread is misleading. There has never been a Prestige on tour. The racquets that pros use on tour are not Prestiges at all, they are completely different racquets, that bear absolutely no resemblance or playing characteristics to any Prestige ever made.

"Prestige on tour for 30 something years?!" lol c'mon man

Head makes these custom made one-off racquets for each and every Head player. Compared to these custom handmade factory creations, the retail racquets are the most basic, cheap, and cost-cutting attempts that is comparable to using a wood racquet in today's game. I seriously doubt that there has ever been a Prestige on tour ever.

You’re 100% incorrect. The same exact Graphite and Twaron made in Austria Prestige Pro, Prestige Pro 600, Prestige 600, and Prestige Classic 600 (all of those frames listed were same mold and layup with the only difference was paint and marketing) that was made for the Pro’s was also made for the consumer. That’s what this thread is celebrating. I’m very sorry you don’t understand.

When did Head really start separating what was for pros vs for the consumer? We all know that every Prestige MP or Pro on tour is a PT57 or some pro stock iteration of this, which are completely different racquets than a Microgel, Liquidmetal, Flexpoint, or IG Prestige MP. Pro stocks are completely different anyway, much less one off models like the PT57 or PT630.

I think racquets up to the mid 90's or so were pretty similar at least in mold and makeup... the weight may have been individualized and silicone added (or foam for that matter) for the Pros but otherwise, the racquets were very similar. That's why people still say when they play with something like a PT630 or Rad Tour 630, that they feel similar to a PT57A Pro Stock (if they've tried both).

Okay, so the pt630 feels like the PT57A. I guess we could say from the Intelligence series on, there was a break between Pro stock and retail Prestige. We know they have grown further and further apart and that no pro uses anything close to a (what we would call) a Prestige. A PT57, PT630, and/ or PT10 are about as close to a Prestige as an H22 and H19 are to retail Blades.

The PT57A2 is the Pro Tour 630!!!!!! The PT57E is the i.Prestige MP!!! You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about.

But if you do your math the racquets sold as Prestige (the Prestige Pro 600 (TXP), PC600, and then iPrestige 600 and MP) to the retail public go back to about 1986... Which is what @vsbabolat and this thread are celebrating... They are not celebrating the current iterations that are far from the racquets mentioned previously (both here by me and in previous posts), but those of 20-30 yrs ago that were very much similar in mold and makeup (they had Twaron and were plush low RA just like the Pro Versions). Therefore, the thread is correct in what it's saying... that's all.

But I agree with you that the current Prestige racquets are nothing like the Pro Stock racquets used by current Pros and that it's misleading... also one of the peeves of @vsbabolat as well as many others on this forum.

God damn this Prince 93P actually makes me want to grab a PC600 to see how it goes. It is an absolutely beautiful frame. If one comes up cheap I wont be able to resist. Just the paint, the mould, the 18x20 pattern is exceptional.

I see a number of Prestige Pro 600s for sale but usually larger grip size? Due to the suspension grip, since I use a 4 1/4 overgripped maybe I am better of with PC600...

There shouldn't be a problem with Prestige Pro 600 or PC600. It is the Prestige Tour that had the unremovable suspension grip.

Oops yeah I meant tours, cheaper but all look like large grip sizes
I took a couple of Prestige Tour 600’s to one of the racquet customizers. I had the suspension grip removed and then a molded handle put on the hairpins. You can’t use pallets on the suspension grip racquets because of the unique shape of the hairpin.

Thanks, thought that would be an issue. Unsure if anyone outside of Prellis in Melbourne do custom moulds in Aus. Even they might not do it so may be worth sticking with the Classic. Will keep a look out :)
