I have been looking for a racquet suitable for a 12 year old girl who comes to the net a lot. Most of the Babolat racquets seem very stiff as does the Wilson BLX 6-1 lite which also has a 102 head and 27.5 length. She has not really taken to the Babolats and it seems they are good for baseliners , not so great at the net .
The Wilson K Bold seems to tick a lot of boxes - 9.8 strung, low swingweight and a very flexible frame at 52 .So it should have excellent feel. Good for slice, volleys and drop shots.
Has anyone played with it and if I get one should it be strung loose to compensate for any lack of power ?

An underpowered racquet for a junior is not such a bad thing is it ? It teaches them to rely on their technique more.

I am sure it is not THAT lacking in power. It can always be strung looser.

Good feel and control, along with it being not too heavy and excellent flex still to me are good indicators for a junior transitioning .She has tested Babolats and experienced discomfort though maybe they have more power.

Breaking easily is another issue.

Anyway we have taken it on demo. She played with it today. Liked it. No arm stiffness but we will see how she feels after a few more tests !

It won't break if it's treated correctly.
None of that smashing shenanigans you see so much of these days.
