Has anyone tried adhesive heel counters for heel slippage before?

No, but it is good to know such things exist.
Also, sometimes material in the heel tears or wears through while the rest of the shoe is good.

no, but I wouldn't count on such a thing to help much or last long. actually about 1:30 in they say it's not meant for sports lol, probably too sweaty and too much movement.

heel slippage is probably something you want to address with proper fit, if possible. something like the fila axilus 2 is a little too soft and the heel cup a little too shallow to lock my heel in place (though, it's not the worst offender). something like the diadora blueshield 4/5 or kswiss supremes are perfect with just enough height and curve to keep my heel in place. something like the adidas stycons get too aggressive with a curved heel cup and are uncomfortable.

you can also try lock lacing

These would be for the BS5. The heel material is soft and does now hold my heel in place. The opening is also super wide :(
does the rest of the shoe fit your foot well, or is the whole shoe a bit loose? my personal experience was TTW's size recommendation was correct, half a size down worked well for my slightly wide feet. have you tried more narrow shoe models in the past?

i do really like the tighter feeling of lock lacing on the BS5, give it a try if you haven't. i was surprised how much a difference in made

Yep, I use these. I have tricky narrow feet and got some heel movement in Yonex Eclipsion 3s, which I otherwise love.

If you just stick these in, they do help but don't stay in place for more than a few sessions. I'm lucky enough to be dating a former ballerina and experienced shoe surgeon, who sewed mine in with dental floss (which is apparently a thing in the ballet world). Now they're basically a part of the shoe, and heel lockdown is perfect (y)

forefoot width is good but my toes still can not spread out due to the tapering. My pinky toe starts where the tapering starts. On the medial side my big toe also is pushed inwards.

1.5cm of space up front lengthwise. I can only push forward 0.5cm of that space though before the roof of the toebox squeezes down. The last 1cm in the front is unuseable

If I go half size down it would be better lengthwise but if I could not spread my toes in size 12, they won't be able to spread in size 11.5s. Sadly

I have used them in non-tennis shoes, and I don't think they work great. They keep you from slipping a bit, but you can tell the fit feels off when they're in there. You can combine them with tongue pads if the whole opening of the shoe is just too big. But when it comes to tennis shoes, I'm not going to mess around with stuff like that; if it doesn't lock my foot in perfectly, it's going back.

I've tried but unless your shoe is really loose I find that it comes out every time I take my foot out, of course they're very cheap and easy to find so you can always give it a try.

also if your shoe has the extra eyelet make sure to try the marathon runners knot
