Has Thiem's chance gone ?

"If Thiem has an open mind, he will soon realize his best chance at a slam will come in New York."

No!

If Thiem has an open mind, he will soon realize his best chance at a slam will come in New York. It is the Virgo slam, he was born in the middle of the tournament. This means all the cosmic energy will be focused on him during that event.

True, Dominick grew up on clay, loves playing on the stuff, but his destiny is buried elsewhere. At the USO Thiem has played fantastic in '17 & '18. I feel his belief and expectation were the things preventing him from going further. All he needs to do is free his mind, be open to all possibilities, and a USO title will happen for him. I can see him winning in New York before Paris.

When I look at Thiem in Paris I see a player who goes deep, but ultimately outplayed. In NY I see a player in control of his destiny, but confused, so he self destructs. If Dominick Thiem takes the same mental attitude to Flushing Meadows that he does to Roland Garros, he will be unstoppable.

Dominick, your first M1000 came on a North American hardcourt, not the claycourts of Europe. Buddy, that was a sign. Your pot-of-gold is in Flushing - take it!!

I know it's not a popular take, but I could see him winning on slow USO this year. He has the game if he can improve his return and decision making.

Can Thiem regroup and win a Slam final next years, or has he been jinxed, and his level of play is destined to drop, from age or from injury ?

Everybody thought Hingis was going to win many RG after losing to Graf, and we know the rest.

So, has the boat sailed ?

Is that your wet dream?

Let's hope there's at least one young player that can finally start taking these guys out
