Hate days like this....

Hey guys, I"m just bored.
Played tennis till my foot gave out, still sore from the stress.
Windsurfed yesterday beyond my capacity, high winds, lots of jumps, leg's caving in.
Now I"m disturbing all of you, me with nothing to do today, a day of rest.
Gotta do the dish's yet, and water front and side plants.
Got 5 hours to do that.
Sorry, just ranting.....

We've been on a brutal schedule at work for the last three years. I have overdue projects and small requests, good for probably two to three months of work and there's always work coming in. So if I can't sleep at 3 AM, I can just go down to the basement, fire up my laptop and work. I also have Reminders entries for fixing things around the house, taking care of paperwork, fixing Firefox bugs or adding features (haven't done that in years), or home improvement stuff. Then there's planning vacations and other shorter recreation for others. And reading financial news and doing my own analysis. And running, lifting weights, stretching, etc.

My wife says that it's great that I can sleep anytime and anywhere. Well, that's because there's always some level of tiredness in my body.

Good stuff, and thanks!
I doubt Suresh dreams he can get one game a set off me. A 3.5 just doesn't, against a 4.0.
Funny ding, I never practice, or work out, for any sport.....which is why I never made to to the top in any, makes sense.

That's exactly why I don't have multiple Olympic medals, and because I'm not a billionaire. Because I haven't really ever tried. ;)

There are different kinds of "really tried".
Some think it's all about natural skills.
Other's think it's vital to maximize your potential with any means.
Some even resort to OMG, performance enhancing drugs!
So, before you mount your high horse again, decide which is YOU. I've already stated which I am.

Remember the discussion about the employement of javelin throwers in the armies of yesteryears?
For sure, a warmed up and fresh javelin thrower can toss one around 300 feet.
But in a real battle, after marching 3 days with little rest, little food, and tired as heck, and with no warmup throws, the USEFUL range of a combat javelin thrower was closer to 75 FEET, easily 4 times less distance than the best hypothecal distance.
What good are combat skills if you need to stretch and warmup? Is a robber going to warm up with you?
Think about it.

fixing Firefox bugs or adding features (haven't done that in years),
Do you mean you are on the Firefox team (or you submit patches?) ?

I think i am back to FF now (I dumped it earlier due to its suddenly hogging CPU) mostly due to the 'Undo Close Tab' feature that Safari lacks.
Also, FF keeps upping its version and then addons fail. I used Pentadactly a LOT, but then it didn't work with the newest version of FF.

I submitted patches many years ago. The CTO back then offered me a job (he's CTO at FB now) and invited me to their confab in Whistler. I got to meet Eich there and the guy from UCLA that became their CEO but left recently. I think that he wanted me to work on the JIT. I just couldn't see moving to SF though.

Brendan Eich ? Wow ! I haven't heard that name in ages.

No, what I mean is that I have always had athletic potential, but I have also always been the laziest dude in the history of the Universe. I had my High School record in discus throw, but I never trained. I just threw the damn thing. Same with a variety of things, like cycling. But I never really trained or did much physically speaking.

So I suppose that if I really, really tried, maybe I could have something worthy of notice.

Have a holiday, visit a new country, taste some new food, meet new people, play tennis with them, have a long rest, relax, relax and refresh........
Appreciate more of this world...
