Sorry to tell you, mates ...

Others brutally smash their racquets.

Much worse than tossing a chair half-heartedly into the empty court.

Deal with it.

As opposed many others here, I consider you (for some reasons that I don't remember now) to be a semi-reasonable person so I will put my argument to you. The main problem with Nick's action is that he threw a chair/table on the court and set down. He did not go to pick it up. Players usually go to pick up an object they threw and such gesture have elements of remorse.

He should be docked for littering. Twenty dollars I think.

The ATP doesn't understand that that was an act of solidarity of St. Nick with the severe problems the citizens of Rome are having with their garbage disposal: "If you can't have your streets clean from litter, I won't have my court clean too!"

Misunderstood Genius.

There's precedent for chair-throwing punishments. It was 34 years ago when Indiana U. basketball coach Bobby Knight threw a chair on to the court in anger during a game. Knight was ejected from the game (and eventually from I.U. for further acts of dyscontrol).

It’s the sum of the incidents over the years that are getting him quick calls anymore. Actually, not enough in my opinion. To many years of excuses made for his on court 5 year old pouts. Too many people still enabling him by making excuse like the OP. It is exactly what creates a-hats antics like Mac and Conners too. It is disrespectful to the quality players that are on tour when they continually excuse him.

You are right: OCDs, MTOs, time wasting, injury sagas, self-serving suggestions, nepotism, draws ......

Oh, you were talking about St. Nick?

Sorry about that.
