Head 360+ Graphene Prestige MP vs Speed 360+ Graphene Pro.....

I love the feel and mass of the Prestige MP for serves and volleys and all-round buttery plushness BUT GOD DAMN I can crush grounds with the Speed Pro..... I am considering the switch. Anybody else experience this dilemma who pulled the trigger on a new Speed Pro? Any long-term regrets?

I’ve played a lot with the PMP, GP, and SP and I prefer the SP. Just a better all-around racquet for my game with a little more forgiveness than the PMP and a little more pop than the GP.

I'm going through a similar thing right now. The Speed Pro is the best racket I've played with, great power and great control and just the right launch angle for my eastern forehand. Mine has 295 swingweight unstrung and I use ALU Power 125 in it.

I'm still exploring a few more before calling quits on my search, the last remaining ones for me to try are:
Gravity Pro
Blade Pro 16x19
Prestige Tour
Prince TT100P

I've been through these over the past 1.5 years:
Blade CV 16x19
Blade v7 16x19
Blade CV 18x20
Blade v7 18x20
Clash 98
Ultra Tour (18x20)
Radical MP 2021
Prince TT95 (2015)
Prince Phantom 18x20 old one
VCore Pro 310 (blue/orange)
VCore HD (green)
VCore 98 old one
VCore 98 2021

I also thought that, since I’m considerably older than the last time I’d played tennis prior, the Speed Pro technically should be a better pick for me. I figured, older, so lighter and larger head size makes sense.

I stuck with it for 8+ months and loved it, and I still do, no regrets. I underestimated, improved my game unexpectedly faster and more than I anticipated I could, and so my coach thought it might be a good idea to try other racquets after on a whim during one lesson I hit with my old Babolat Pure Control Team and he saw the difference? Or something like that.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as though broadly speaking a “better” player would fit better with the PMP than the SP. I think with how my play style and strengths were seen more clearly, it fit with the VCP 97HD and PMP better. Funnily enough, during the second round of 90-day demoing I again found the PMP a contender; and my coach and I agreed it was a good fit. At least I’m consistent, haha.

Edit: Oh wait I just realized I misunderstood; I didn’t switch from the PMP to the Speed Pro, I chose the Speed over the Prestige as my new racquet, prior racquet was the Babolat from over a decade ago.

It can take a little longer to adjust to served with Speed Pro, but it is excellent if you let the racquet mass rip through the ball. One of the best all around frames out there… and yes you can rip ground strokes. I haven’t been able to put it down and have no regrets. MP is good as well but just a little too light. Speed Pro hits a very heavy ball.

MP with a leather grip (and OG) is plenty hefty (for me).

ive switched back to the speed pro so many times it makes my head spin. great blend of control and pop.

the speed MP is my darling, though. especially the old ones w the 22 mm beam.

I thought it did, but it really depends a bit on what your comfortable with form a static and swingweight perspective. Blade Pro to me was a bit like the Gravity Pro in that it was just a touch too heavy for my liking. My younger self would've been okay with it. It's just a personal thing on what works for you in terms of really generating rhs through the hitting zone. Speed Pro works great for me, plus it's more forgiving on flat and spin serves.

On ground strokes I found the Speed Pro had more pop and spin potential... again it was also more forgiving. Blade Pro is still a great frame, but you do need to be able to get it moving to get the real benefit from it. I just don't want to work that hard so the Speed Pro was a beautiful compromise to the Blade and Gravity Pros.

yeah, the original graphene, xt, and touch models all had a 22mm beam. with the 360 they switched to a 23mm beam.

the molds are still similar, but the 360 and 360+ both feel a bit more stable and a bit more chunky to me.

I've used my Speed Pro twice now, loving it, sold my blade v7. I want to try speed mp and radical mp next, what did you think about the radical mp? can you compare it to the speed pro?

Just for reference my Speed Pro has a 295 swingweight and my Radical MP has 293. So pretty similar in SW, though the Speed Pro being larger and 18x20, the difference gets a little larger once strung.

The Radical MP is definitely more like the Blade v7 16x19 than it is the Speed Pro. Compared to the Speed Pro, the Radical has a higher launch angle, higher and smaller sweet spot, less free power, and in my opinion a less "pure" feel when hitting the ball. I think it has a slightly longer handle though, which is good for 2HBH. Spin might be a bit greater on the Radical as well, but not hugely different.

Both are fantastic racquets... the only thing that takes time to get used to with the SP for me is serving. I have the G360+ PMP, SP, and GP... and serving with the SP is the hardest for me. I'm working on it though as it is amazing everywhere else. Great on groundies, volleys, touch, angles, drop shots are so good I sometimes have to laugh. All three are staying in my collection. The PMP+ is the most precise of the three, but it is also the lowest powered (and all my racquets have been modified to around 355-360g strung depending on strings).

So, no regrets... only more work to make things even better.
