Head Auxetic Gravity Official Thread

18x20 you need to go 45lb max with a medium soft poly... no point using à "feel" racket and string it with 4g at 55 ponds
That is exactl what i did. Topspin Cyberflash 1.20mm with 21/20kg. But combination of weight, swingweight and 18x20 pattern destroyed my arm. I, m a heavy hitter and my joints are weak and sensitive. The feel, precision, control and power were really nice. Just comfort was not there.

It wasn't the racquet per-say
It was the combination of weight, swingweight, and balance.
Had nothing to do with strings or tension. People forget a heavy racquet can give injury depending on your technique

I am using the factory strings - Head Sonic Pro 16 at 24kg. I am surprised how much i love it! I have tried majority of popular strings but so far Gpro 2021 and this string is the best combo i have ever tried. One of my tennis partners hits with massive top spin (aka Nadal style) and he says that Head Sonic Pro Edge he uses is even better. I must say that this Head line of strings is a hidden gem and complements Gpro 2021 very well.

Racket arrived, on spec. First session and it feels good. Hopefully I'll keep improving the more I get used to it.
Thanks for all the help guys
So, I've been playing with the GoPro for a few days now. Over all, for me, a very similar playing experience to the Yonex Vcore Pro 97 HD, which is one of the frames I was using before. Needless to say, mostly positive. I am not missing any power and spin is also decent. Once you get used to the lower launch angle, depth can also be generated. Aggressive slice is excellent and defensive slices are a great rescue shot when stretched.
The one shot I am struggling with is the second serve. Flat first serves have actually become easier with the GPro, but the 2nd serve percentage has decreased. I'm using synthetic gut mains at 50 pounds and smooth poly crosses at 45 pounds.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Fouad

I'd been enjoying Head Lynx Tour (champagne 1.25mm) previously but decided to try and switch it up for even more control, so tried Luxilon 4G Desert Bronze 1.25mm at the same tension, 52lbs, and it was noticeably better for me, felt like I could hit out with even more confidence. To my surprise it was actually extremely comfortable too.

Has anyone tried to remove some of the head guards on their Gravity Pro to lower the SW?
do you mean swapping it out for the old non half cap grommet? I think it might lower swing weight, I'd love to see a gram measurement on the old vs new grommets.

Which is which? I have 4x Gravity Pro 2023 and am looking to lower SW
I mean there are a couple ways to lower swingweight, shaving the top of the racket under the bumper (wouldn’t recommend as a first choice, although you can knock off like 9 points doing it), using a thinner guage of string (solinco makes 1.05 hyper g and tour bite), or if you are using polyester use multi

For gpro, it's better for me to use thinner string since I wanted a bit higher launch angle anyway.

I tried shaving off materials under the guard on a different frame. A lot of work. Never liked the result.

Would switching from Alu Power to a Solinco String in 1.20 gauge give height to the ball?

Yes the fact that all solinco strings are shaped that would increase the launch angle. With going to 1.20 instead of 1.25 would also increase the launch angle and open up the stringed enough to cause an increase in spin

I regularly used 18g poly in gpro when it was my main stick. Unless you break the string too quickly, I would at least experiment a little.
Ok thanks guys. I have tried in the past but during our indoor season was really benefiting from the control of the round string. Now we’re outdoors I can’t get any height, shape or spin on the ball so think it’s a good switch.

Before shaving off the SW , think about the fact for a thinner beam, a higher SW is needed.
Understandable if you got one that was over spec’d to say 340-350.

I got an overspec prince ats 100p and didn't like the swing weight. Made all sorts of work around to drop SW. Failed. But that kicked off my full year journey to heavy racquets. I peaked at 350g gpro with 338 SW for 6 months and now hitting slightly weighted gravity MP. Racquetholic is a chronic disease.

Just chiming in to praise this racquet. The slice of the GPros is insane, flat and slice serves are huge. I get good topspin on both FH and 1HBH. Been trying a lot of different strings, Grapplesnake Tour M8 1.25 is emerging as my favorite at 45/43 pounds. It complements this stick, taking it to elite level feel and control. I've had pretty good luck with quality control as well. Two of my frames came in at 347 strung with a leather grip and the SW and balance differences are so negligible, I cannot feel them. My third is a 4 grams under those and noticeably lower SW, but some tape in the hoop and a little tungsten in the handle fixed that.
