Head Butt Cap question

@TW Staff, can you tell me the difference between the three Head butt caps on your site? Is one weighted and the others not? I’m looking for the non-weighted ones, btw.

The first two butt caps on that list have a cylindrical knob on the inside of the trap door, and I weighed both of them on our postal scale, and each of them weighed 15 grams total (removed from the plastic wrapper). This was for the: Head 2022 Butt Cap (Head code=285332) and Head Butt Cap (Head code=285907).

The Head Standard Butt Cap Glossy Black (Head code=285981) does not have the cylindrical knob on the inside of the trap door, and I weighed it at 11 grams total (removed from the plastic wrapper). So I think this might be the one you are looking for. That said, I believe this is an older product, and we only have size 4 1/8" or size #1 left in stock, and does not appear that these are on back order.

also, the two heavier options were measured for grip size #0, and the lighter butt cap was measured in 4 1/8" or grip size #1, since that is all I had in our CA warehouse.

Thanks Troy for the in-depth answer. Bummer on the lighter butt caps. I noticed the knob on my Extreme Tour, and was trying to extend a friend's frame (which is not a Head, but he likes the shape of the their butt cap). The knob was (a) adding extra weight to his, and (b) messing w/ my extension as the butt cap won't sit flush (e.g., I need to take the knob's depth into my extension calculation).

I wasn't for certain if the trap doors themselves are interchangeable, but if they are, then technically you could purchase the lighter butt cap (Head Standard Butt Cap Glossy Black), and just swap out the trap door, to snap on to the butt caps you already have. Since it seems like the difference in weight comes down to the cylindrical knob that is part of the trap door.

Do the current Gravity Pros come with a weighted or unweighted buttcap? I know I could just check but I immediately changed my pallet to a bigger size and don't remember what the initial one had.
