223.2 code

I have one of these that Bogomolov Jr. used for a bit. It was customized at Bosworth. I talked to Warren himself, before he passed (sadly) a few years back, and he said they were a pro-only mold.

It is DEFINITELY not a stock Flexpoint Prestige MP - in fact it is the same mold as a PT57, but way stiffer. It's probably more like the mythological PT57F but with real flexpoints. It has indents at the throat, and the beam shape/size is identical to a PT.

Really, really stiff compared to a PT57A, or PT630.

Hope this helps, and it illustrates how confusing some of this really is.

Do you know if the code was PT, TGK or TGT?

Sorry: TGK 223.2 B-1

The best info I have, and I'm reluctant to say this, is that these were leftover Gustavo Kuerten frames. It makes sense because there are pictures of him playing these frames ~ 2007, which is when Head had already started to use TGK for their prostock codes.

Also, Warren Bosworth said something interesting when I was talking to him about the frame re: the flex of the hoop and how certain players were very specific about those characteristics. I can't remember the thread, but someone mentioned that in a conversation with a Head bigwig he explained that the TGK numbers represented hoop-flex characteristics.

So, in essence, I think there is alot more to "layup" codes than beam stiffness, and individual player preferences might have to do with where contact is made on the stringbed, and specific angles-of-attack unique to those players. Kuerten certainly had a pretty radical angle of attack on the ball.

Please chime in...

Head PT151?Please.

Florico - Yeah, I was noticing that was missing from the list as well. Here's my notes on that fairly unique frame (from Feb 2012 and unconfirmed) PT 151 Head: 100 sq. Length: 27.75 or 28 Pattern 18x19

Any for the IG Instinct as of yet?

Matt - I think there are these two from the Instinct mold, but they are not on the big list. TGK297.1, TGK297.2. And then there is also the PT161, which is on the big list.

Hankenstein - Thanks for bringing this out to the light of day. It's been long overdue. And please confirm my notes. I've not even glanced at a single pro stock frame in the last year.

Yes and no,
it's true that Head wants the professional youngsters to play the TGK's but if your name is Andy Murray (in other words TOP players) you will have a PT57...

thanks, makes perfect sense:) the tgk´s coming from china nowadays and Murrays frames still from Austria?

Most likely Murray still plays with old PT57A batch (ie pre-YouTek release) but in 16x19 pattern...

I have tried this frame and it really is the business. Hit it with lux alu power and it was very impressive.

Was it extended? Mine is nearly 27 3/4. Just picked up two more at the same length (or a fraction longer) but have yet to find out if they hit the same.

Also have a pair of standard length 231.1s but they don't hit as buttery sweet with such easy plow as the .2, but still great sticks. 238.1 Prestige another sweet frame.

Was introduced to these tgks by a local one day and my life has not been the same since. First time I ever hit with the .2, I went, 'Oh no.'

No the one i tried was just standard length. Would be interesting to see what its like extended. Do you just have your pallet longer with the extended portion essentially hollow? or is it an actual extended length frame?

even standard length, i had the same thought as you.. holy crap, i kept thinking i just want to pummel the heck out of the ball all the time it was that good.. just had that sort of feeling for me when i tried it.

Alas, i have the frame in my possession but its not mine. I may end up buying it though if the guy wants to sell it, otherwise back it goes

Actually extended, as far as I know, just cut down from the original 28-inch length the tgks supposedly come in in their original form.

Also: sent you a PM with some questions, didn't want to derail the thread.

Bringing this back up.... I found out that TGT292.1 is the pro stock code for the IG Prestige MID (18x20)
Anyone knows if there are any IG Prestige MID in 16x19 for the pros?

I am replacing pallets, grip, bumperguard, restringing, etc... On a Prestige Flexpoint/LM MP, and the guy I am doing it for was a Head tour player and he told me it was a pro stock frame. The code under the pallets is TGK 198.1.... ???

Fantastic and very helpful list!
- But could anyone help me out with codes for these rackets?:

- i.Radical MP (18x20)
- LM Radical MP (18x20)
- MG Radical Pro (16x19, 100sqin)
- YTIG Radical Pro (16x19)
- YTIG Radical OS (18x19)

and, for some long shots:
- Prestige Tour 600 (18x20, suspension grip)
- Prestige Tour 660 (18x19, suspension grip)
- Elite Master 660 (18x19, 102 sqin)

Thanks
Alex

Two codes:

PT 10 B: PC600 in Flexpoint PJ w/ Flex holes?

I've never heard of these, but I am in the process of acquiring a few...

TGK 237.1: Has a PC600 collar and MG PJ w/ 237.1 in throat

Possibly Safin personal?

I thought so, thanks VS. I've got a bunch of pro stock Microgel Radical Pro's but they are fairly stiff. Apparently these also come in another layup that is 57 flex, will report once I have them..

So no thoughts on the 285.3?

Does anyone know if the TGT292.1 has the same stiffness as the retail YTIG Prestige Mid?
Thanks for any info!
