HEAD Extreme 360+ tour club?

Thanks guys! The Radical paintjob I just can’t wrap my head around. Looking to switch to either the ET or Tecnifibre 300 RS so I’m doing my research atm.

So went from From hawk touch to vs hawk touch hybrid and frame changed to pingy and unpredictable...strange...
Confirms my previous finding that it's a very string sensitive frame. I think that is why people love it or hate it. Just depends on the string and what you are use to...

Hawk touch full bed this thing was amazing pinpoint control like a mid size racquet and aero like spin on flick of a wrist.

With gut mains it lost the control and seems like it's pingier in comparison.

Have you tried lynx tour fullbed? Probably my favorite string in this frame. Hyper g soft is good too.

Very interesting. Is hawk Touch your go to string? What tenaion did you string?
I will try my Extreme Tour tonight. Strung with an unknown poly at what feels like 25kg.

Tried my Extreme Tour tonight. Strung with an unknown string at unknown Tension. I can really see why so many young upcoming pro players like this frame. It has sick potential. Feel is very good. Very comfy. It felt a little anemic though. Mine needs lead. I dont know the swingweight of mine. But it needs lead.
I will restring first, and than try adding some lead. Grip does run a little small.

I cannot say for sure but I think tw sent a demo with lynx at unknown tension and lifespan and I did not like the racquet with it. Maybe it was dead? Felt like a dead bbo

I am running gut/alu in it and I don't have the same issues. I always use a dampener so I am unsure how it would be if you don't though. 59/56 and control is very good, power is much higher, feel is excellent - exactly as I'd expect from gut hybrids. I usually string poly at 48 (lynx tour) and think I will just switch to the gut option. Lynx does feel stiff initially and a bit dead but has excellent control, can do things with it that I couldn't do with BBO or PTP (cut out both). The grey one felt like it opened up a lot more in this frame and was softer but not quite as much control

I should have went with alu. Gold standard...
I was curious about hawk touch since it was so good as a full bed

I'll hit again with it tomorrow but it shouldn't be pingy, it did have very nice feel, not so muted - tonic <135 as well. The lynx tour was pretty high pitch without a dampener so I know where you are coming from and stiff overall but played excellent. Right set up with this frame is dynamite.

a bit offtopic but I can confirm that Lynx Tour and Original have a lot in common. Will be reviewing Original soon in my string related thread :)

I only have experience with Gravity Pro, Prestige MP 360+ and Radical MP so this thread is interesting :) I don't remember such a great "cycle" from Head. Maybe I am not old enough :)

Have any of you played the vcore 98 before the ET? How would you compare the two?
They have very similar specs, and while I don't love the feel of it, the SV 98 has amazing spin potential and makes me more competitive in matches.

Finally strung and re gripped. Was told that white was boring so gone for a slightly brighter grip combo!

Vcore 98 has more power and less control
ET has more spin potential, more control, better feel and less power. Also, i feel it is a bit more maneurverable

vcore 98 and ET were close for me.

both all about control, no extra gear for power
both good feel
vcore more stable hoop for sure
both HL, ET being a bit more so
vcore much better for 2hbh and serve - for me.

for me, I could really flatten out the ball with the vcore, actually, that extra stability helped me there.
it was close to a blade, but more HL.

both awesome offerings
we are so lucky right now, so many amazing options!

Vcore98 & ET are my 2 fav demos recently.
Vcore98 is very stable with a large consistent string bed, likely due to Yonex head shape. Comfy and great for my 1HBH.
ET is fun due to its easy RHS. String bed not as consistent for me, likely due to its spin grommet system. Great feel it you can consistently hit the sweetspot. Off center and it's a bit jarring though not too bad. Some lead at 2/10 and/or 4/8 might help.

Hi, Mine arrived at 300gr 31.3cm BP and 279SW, added lead to come to 290SW. Really nice frame!

Just realized this needs a disclaimer, i compared the ET to the 2018 vcore 98, not the new model.

Playtested the Extreme Tour for the second time today, and it felt really good!
I am currently using the Pure Strike 16X19 (Project One) and trying to find a replacement due to some elbow pain.
The Extreme Tour felt lighter and easy to use, and it has a good power potential.

Other than Head Lynx Tour, do you have any other string suggestion?
It is just my personal feeling, but the Extreme Tour with Lynx Tour feels a little too springy to me. I personally like something plush and even muted.

Head Hawk Touch might be the ticket for you.

Tried this bad boy and liked it but found a way to play painfree with my Ezone 98. I'll offload mine at $100 shipped if anyone wants to try it. Barely played with it for 5 hours. Condition is 8/10 with normal bumper scrapes.

Found the ET to play better with non-crisp polys, the pingy nature is best complemented with a soft poly.

I am loving my Extreme Tours. Switched from the VCore 95 for more fogiveness on the clay.

Right now I am like 6g of lead in a single, foot-long strip at 12 o'clock. I've also added the VT Advantec Leather grip and 2 VTA strips, one each at 3 and 9.
I'm liking these VTA strips quite a bit because they make the racquet feel a bit more solid like my Yonex's. They also help my a bit with comfort. I was finding some discomfort after long hits with the racquet in stock form.

I have tried Grapple Snake Tour Sniper, RPM Power and RPM Rough. RPM Power was a not go for me, i think that string works better in more open 16x19's. RPM Rough was quite a surprise, plus i like the colour. I'm finding Tour Sniper to be a bit muted. I'd like a crisper feedback, especially since I'm using the VTA strips.

what are you playing with these days?
saw your tour posted f/s

Testing speed mp vs vcore 98 if they can dethrone gravity pro all gut hybrid stringbeds at relatively high tensions 55 and up.

Not that tour was bad or anything actually it would be my main stick it's just that I am trying to switch to 100 to make it little easier for myself these days. I only play 1 per week so I found that 98 can get in my way

So many good sticks so little time lol

Interesting...so lighter and more easy power...
So far Gravity pro is 445 strung with overgrip because of my one hander I needed to add 10gr of lead to the handle to make it easier to swing. For me I could not use gravity pro with that stock balance. I think if I had two hander no problem.
With other two I'm trying to stay around 330 to save my shoulder.

I think you had a typo on the weight of your gravity pro... you probably meant 345 (not 445)... right?

ET is fantastic, using them after I cracked my Pure Aero VS. playing my best tennis with them and enjoying the ability to hit flat or spin on demand.

Leather grip. Trying to find the correct weighting, I've added lead to the top of handle and 10-2 as well to see how that will go. It played fantastic stock but seeing how it takes weight

Can be a bit picky with strings.

I string at 48 as default and fits the frame well

Lynx tour - fantastic control - grey is softer, less control
Confidential - meh, disconnected?
Tour bite 1.20 - meh, stiffer but softens up and moves quickly
BBO - tried at 46, lack of feel, increase needed

Waiting for the rain to stop in Brisbane to test out PTP 1.25. Champagne was doing things I haven't experienced before so if I can find a good tension/weight setup it might be the best. It starts moving quite quickly so it's lucky that it's cheap.

anyone have similar issues with solinco strings? I find that PTP offers much better playability and lynx tour just beats them hands down. They don't seem to last long for me and for the price there are much better options
could you please compare ET and PAVS in playability?

could you please compare ET and PAVS in playability?

PAVS super easy to play with, very generous sweet spot, muted, not much feel but more than most Babolat. Net play not as good, nor accuracy - but both are still very solid. Backhand probably my favourite shot with the PAVS, flat or loopy ohbh.

ET great all round frame. Exactly where you want the ball to go with a lot of spin. - kick serves are exceptional, volley and touch are also great. Incredible forehands, better than the PAVS for me.

PAVS has that Babolat playability. ET not as easy right away but has its advantages in feel and control. Either will do well, I cracked my PAVS on a mishit though.

As a side note, I have damaged my TFCC with gut/poly due to too many mishits... I am getting an ultrasound tomorrow to confirm any real damage. Anyone else have issues with this? Are these HEAD frames stiff in the hoop and flexible throat leading to shock to joints? ET weighting is slightly different to the PAVS maybe more in the throat, was tired and changed stroke/grip size... Lesson learnt. I have played my best tennis with the ET but take that at face value.. I was greatly improving with the PAVS and the progress made with the ET was just an extension of that which was already in motion. I am hoping it's good news and I can get back playing with tennis again shortly.

Switched to the Extreme Tour after using the previous gen Extreme MP.

Helped me move from 4 ish to 4.5 ish (estimation as we don't have that system in the UK. I play in my club's second team, we have 7 teams).

Fantastic frame. Controlled forgiveness is a good way to think of it. Much less power than the rest of the range but I like that, as it means I can string a bit lower.

No arm problems.

But I have added 2g to both 3 and 9 as it seems many others have.

My specs are 330g ish and 330mm ish balance fully strung and loaded with grips etc

I just demoed the ET and absolutely loved it. Coming from the GT which is a great stick too, but demanding over the course of three sets.
With that in mind do you think the ET still manoeuvrable with the balance at 330 ish? Just a question before I go modding the two ET's I have.

Bruceh

New User
the ET will be MUCH more maneuverable and easier to swing, as it is lighter and has a lower SW.
the ET will have MUCH less stability.
the ET doesn't have much stability in the hoop and is best for 3.0-3.5, and lower paced 4.0, that is just my opinion.

the ET is a very unique offering and should be a GREAT option for MANY players. I just felt that it was pushed around a bit, playing against 4.5 and 5.0 players.
I don't like adding lead tape, so I quickly moved on.

but I do have an affection for it!
1. very HL which I like, could generate very good RHS
2. good feel
3. controlled power
4. forehand was sublime b/c of number three

negatives for me were:
1. not enough stability in the hoop
2. 2hbh didn't work as well as my forehand. my 2hbh is wonderful with my two current loves, the blade v7, gravity tour
3. serve was just ok
4. handle size was "off" it was far too small. I played with two OG for that reason, and it was still a smidge too small, weird right?

but we are all at different levels, playing against different levels, with different likes.
I took your advice and added three cotton balls to butt cap. Such a small amount of weight but it makes a big difference. I strung it with RPM power / excel hyprid a bit low at 48/51 but it plays effortlessly just need to add top spin , serves are amazing
