HEAD GRAPHENE 360+ SPEED MP discussion/appreciation/pics

I finally got 2x 2 hour hitting sessions with my new 360+ Black Speed MP (4G 1.25 @ 45 lbs).

My first impressions is that it’s like the 360+ Speed Pro, BUT, I can finally be more offensive with it! Serves and forehands are more of a weapon with the MP! Didn’t find the MP lacking mass at all, as it handles pace as well as the heavier Pro model! The only mod I did is swapping the synthetic to a leather grip. Even with my sensitive elbow, I had no discomfort at all!

with a leather grip a mp is pretty close to pro weight.

I couldn't do a leather grip for a speed mp.

but if you're going that route, look at the specific type of syn grip on the speed mp. then go and see the specs (in a listing for a replacement of that type) and see how much it weighs.
then look at the weight of the leather grip you're shopping.

the original grip is prob 18 grams, 1.75mm thick
leather grip is going to be 25 grams to 30, I'd guess?

good luck

Thanks - I ordered an Oehms leather grip. It should be about 25 g. The original grip is 18 g. I ran a calculator and it should move it to about 6 pts HL, which I think I will enjoy. I'll see how it goes. I haven't used a leather replacement grip before.

NICE, keep us posted!
Let us know what the specs come out to!

Interesting my speed pro has been hitting the bottom of the net. The launch angle is ridiculously low even for an 18x20.
What's your string gauge and tension? I use HyperG 17ga at 48lbs. Launch angle for me is pretty forgiving to me for an 18x20. I don't have an issues getting the ball up. It's pretty similar to the Gravity Pro IMO. Relatively speaking I would say compared to most frames it has low-medium to medium launch. I hit with a lot of spin though and out in front. If you start catching it late it's gonna come out low.

Same here. No problem with the launch angle. I think it’s a relatively open 18 x 20.

Gonna chime in quickly here - got two matched Speed MPs weighing in at 299g unstrung, with shrink wrap on handle. Swapped the hydrosorb pro for Babolat leather grips for a more connected feel and making them a bit more HL. Final weight strung with over grip is 328.

Really like the 360+ Speed MP, coming from the Prestige IG Yutek Pro, I was looking for a slight decrease in weight and a bump in power as I don’t have the wheels anymore I used to have. I’ve been using them for about a month now and all aspects of my game have improved. So I’m pretty stoked!

Swapped out the grip for an Oehm's leather grip. I was meh on the PJ before, but I think it looks really SHARP with the leather. The feel is great too and the balance feels better. Haven't played with it yet though. This is my first leather grip since using my Pro Staff 90 back in the day.

Better lighting and quality

Since you have been able to try most of the new head rackets I would like to ask you for a recommendation, im an aggressive baseliner, I rarely go up to volley, I prefer to hit from the bottom and win points with winning shots or less frequently with dropshots, My history with rackets has been the following: first I used a wilson blade countervail, I was not completely convinced with it because it was difficult for me to give speed and push my rival, then I tried the new gravity tour, because I wanted to try a flexible racket thinking that It would help me alleviate a cronic pain that I have in my arm, and the truth is that I did not feel a noticeable difference, very good touch and feel when hitting with gravity but very difficult also to hit winning shots and a considerably less powerful serve, now im using the ezone 100 (2017) that belongs to my father, very surprised to be honest, it suits my game much more, fast serves and ease to push the opponent with powerful shots and much easier to get winning shots, however, I would like maybe a little less power since sometimes it is too much and the ball goes long and also the racket is too rigid, no sensations at all, it has an index of 69 if not I'm wrong, so now I'm thinking about the radical mp, the speed mp, and the extreme mp, unfortunately I can't test the rackets so it's a new hit or miss haha, what do you think would be the best option?

Hi, both the speed MP and maybe also the new radical MP might be something in between the ezone 100 and the blade. clearly the Speed MP 360+ will give you more power than the Radical but still is not an Ezone or a Pure Drive kind of. Very balanced frame and ideal from the baseline. You should try it.
The Extreme, for sure an excellent racquet in 360/360+ series is comfortable but powerwise like the Ezone 100.

I own both, extreme mp 360+ and speed mp 360+. Need more time to decide which one suits my game better, but so far i would say Speed mp has less power, better control, lower launch angle, more feel/touch than extreme. Extreme is very stable at net and kick serve is great, speed is easier to defend and to play an all around game.

Using now Tier One T1 Firewire 1.20 on the speed mp 360+, plays nice on it.

Any idea if you have a preference with regard to weight, swing weight, balance?

First little hit with a 360+ (injury prevents any more) and yep can feel that swingweight - but in a good way.

The racq feels very planted. Far more than the previous version.

With the earlier version you have to work so hard to get the ball to penetrate. But the 360+ is more effortless, it connects directly.

Much better dampening in the feel.

Also a higher launch angle.

I'm not looking for more spin but for more flat out putaway energy, and it already seems to deliver...

Yes i think that the answer could be on one of those sticks, but apparently according to what I have read in several threads the radical would be much closer to the blade, and I think I would like something closer to the ezone, apparently the speed would be a good option with a little less power and a little more of control, i consider the extreme too because I think it could be very similar to the ezone but with a little more sensations as it is a little less rigid

do you consider that they are considerably different rackets? as for power for example? How hard is it to hit winners with the speed versus the extreme?

Any idea if you have a preference with regard to weight, swing weight, balance?

I have not been able to measure the swingweight or the balance in my rackets but based on the official information I think that a weight of 300 would be quite good since it gives the possibility of raising it if necessary, the blade has a swingweight of 330 approx and I could move it without problems, so an equal or lower sw would also be ideal, and the balance somewhat even or perhaps more headlight than headheavy, because thats what I am used to

After buying/demoing dozens of racquets since 2019. Finally find my main stick- 360+ Speed MP. I will sell all other racquets and buy 1 or 2 more speed MP as back up. How do you guys think about quality control of Speed MP? Any chances 2 Speed MP will have totally different feel?

I requested two matched sticks from TW and they feel absolutely identical, super happy as I don’t have a favorite and wear down my strings equally.

Yes it’s quite possible

I just listed mine in case anyone wants to pick up a mint black version

Wrong grip size for me! Oh well

Is anyone using natural gut in these? I am fully poly, but I did a random hit with my Klip/Cream Volkl V-Sense that I strung years ago...and it was like butter. I might get back into that setup, but I am not sure what tension to go with and don't want to waste $$$ experimenting.

Strung up one earlier in the week with a combo of Wilson Natural Gut 16 in the mains and Lux Alu Power Soft 1.25 as the crosse. I have had off and on golfers elbow for the past nine months so I started out a bit conservative with my tension, 52/50, it feels really nice but I think that setup is comfortable enough to go up a pound or two on both. I’ll get a bit more control and not have to worry about any elbow issues.

Nice! Thanks for the input

Got TF triax in the mains about 50, and crossed with a poly. Have to admit the triax adds good pop and comfort that nicely matches the new swingweight in the MP 360+.

FINALLY got to play with my leather grip on the MP. It takes some adjusting, but I love the solid and firm feel. Of course the weight helps in that regard, but I love the direct feedback and feeling the bevels. It is harder to get the head swinging due to the more HL balance, but I think I can adjust.

OK first hitting session...

The thing is a lazer...

Latest model 360+ is stiffer than the prev model, and I am unsure the spiral fibres either dull that or mitigate damaging vibrations. Nevertheless that stiffness I think is also partly contributing to it's lazer-like accuracy, and adds a fair bit of oomph to the bottom end too. No wobbles.

Am coming back from 4 months layoff due to shoulder injury so am rusty but sensitized to how this thing clicks, can feel it, and anything off-centre or framed is fairly punishing. But get the ball into the centre of that hoop and it has putaway power.

Can only hit backhand and fh and volleys, and on those this thing I guess because of the swingweight has really ramped up the, er, speed.

I mean it is sharp and accurate, and an absolute scythe thru the air, so it is living up to its name-billing, but it also feels like it has a whole host lot more power. Cannot work out yet how much of this is strings. But definitely believe softer strings absolute necessity.

Think they've changed the throat, cannot explain where all this response in it is coming from...

After dozens of Racquets... Speed MP 360+ Black edition has become my weapon of choice...
I feel extremely connected to the ball compared to 2021 Pure Drive, the power is a tad lover which is a good thing to stay inside the court..
I can flatten out the ball and the launch angle is very controllable..

I highly recommend using Solinco Tour Bite soft at 24kg's.. Thanks to the comfort and plushness I got rid of my vibration dampener with this frame/string combo..

Ok the tip.

The vicious tip of this racquet.

It's like a shark fin, it's the bit you see full of menace (let's agree sharks are amazing and don't generally eat ppl).

It's a very workable tip, a real godsend in game play because it can get you out of so much trouble. Combined with a bit of overall stiffness (64) and some generous swingweight (328) the tip comes laden to do good things up there.

And with Head having sorted vibrations in this version it's ok.

Late on your BH? Stick that racquet out and watch the tip save ya.

Jammed on a return, no room for backswing? Get that tip on the ball and y'v gottta chance.

(btw got gut crossed with velocity in it)

It's a fun racquet to play with. Enough "help" for bad situations, but the control is there to really do damage on the attack.

Absolutely overrated stick. Very little control and very high launch angle with too much force. Forces you to play in a certain way (big target spin bashing)
Pure aero for example and even heads own extreme line trumps this hollow feeling toy racket easily

Hmm well I found it (the new version) a lower launch angle than the prev version...
Dunno not think of it as spin machine, nor play certain way...
Finding it pretty sharp and accurate...
Generally I don't like 100 sq in racquets but this one seems fine, manouverable, ok on 1HBH.

^^Hmm, but you know what, if you come past this thread say one thing and then leave and not hangaround for any advice or counter point of view to your post then you're just trolling.

On my 360+ Speed MP I like a little weight at 3&9 and a slick round poly to tame the launch angle a bit. Or I guess I could just use the Pro...

Thinking of getting the all black. Does anyone know about the 2022 Speed (color, tech, etc)? I don't want to invest in the 360+ if the 360++ comes out soon haha
Currently have one 360 Speed MP with lead at 3, 9, 12, and under replacement grip and in buttcap.
Also, I don't know the SW on my 360 rn. I have about 5 inches of lead on 3 and 9 and 2 inches at 12. The racquet is about 8-10 pts HL depending on string gauge. Do you think I would need to add some lead to the 360+ version?

Quick question. I see some sites have this 'Graphene 360 <NON-PLUS> MP' model listed. Is is a typo of 360+ or it's the predecessor of current 360-PLUS model?

EDIT: never mind, I think 360/360+ are 2 different versions

Yes the Speed 360 MP is different from the 360+ version. It's pretty unanimous that most people find the 360+ version more comfy/arm friendly. Beyond just the comfort factor the 360+ version has a higher swing weight as well... some people like that some don't, but that's more personal preference.

Yeah I saw a good offer of the 360 and thought it was a misprint that it didnt have the +. Turned out they're 2 different versions. Glad I paid attention.

I would also like to pick up an all black frame

Haha sorry guys, I was having periods (........of racketaholistic exacerbation and searched some sort of ultimate control frame back then.)
yesterday I hit on hard court with my black speed. It was a joy. Great power level, spin, accurate enough. Feel is muted or cushioned (because of flex) but at the same time somehow connected if that makes sense. Just hit my heaviest strokes ever. I could keep balls inside the court with versatile stroke mechanics. Serve was easy.

It was interesting to notice that I didn’t feel like adding lead to the hoop like last time I used this frame... even defensively, I managed to block heavy shots without stability issues. Maybe those classic 95 control frames have trained me to find sweetspot more consistently and strike with exaggerated spin and swing.

Brilliant frame! Just ordered a second black Mp.

When will HEAD/TW have promotion on these? Had a brief hit and racquet played awesome. But 240 apiece plus tax plus TW spec custom order cost is a bit steep.
