Hey everyone. I am looking for some new sticks. Wondering what peoples thoughts are between these two racquets. Seems to me like they play very similarly, the Speed maybe a little harsher, but more spin, and the Ultra Tour a little more comfort but maybe less spin & power. Wondering what people's thoughts are on what they prefer between these two. I am a former D1 college player, big hitter, big serve & big forehand, one handed backhand (and love, LOVE my slice backhand). Play old school and like to get to net when I have a chance to attack. I've been doing a lot of research, and keep flip flopping between the two. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I played with the head Prestige all throughout high school and college (multiple versions) then switched to the DR 98 and liked, but never loved it (found it lacking a few things for me). Looking for that 18x20 feel again. Thanks for your input!

If you plan to play it close to stock the 360 is the far better choice. Tried the ultra tour and thought it was a joke of a frame ( the feel wasn't even good) but many others swear by it if you customize.

Just $25 to demo at TW!

yeah I got some demos coming tomorrow! haha. Already bought a leather grip and lead tape for the WUT, glad to know you liked the 360. Did you customize that one at all?

Did a TW leather grip that I trimmed a lot and 2 grams @ 12. Total weight 336 strung, 8 pts hl.

if you liked the prestige, you will like a ut97 with some lead. the speed pro is more toward the tweener end of the the players racquet spectrum, like your deceased dr98. to be fair i dont have a knock on the speed pro, i have used them on and off for the better part of 3 yrs.

the flex factor would be something to consider on both of these, imo
w.ultra.tour is low flex, considered a platform racquet, ready to customize with lead as needed,, if your not into that, then it wont work
h.speed.pro stiffer, not bad, but stiffer; can be played with little mods,,
i like the flex, and lead modifications, soo the w.ultra gets my vote..

I prefer the Blade 18x20 to either. I found the Blades to have more power, control, and better feel than the Head or UT. The Speed Pro does get more spin if that’s a major concern. The UT definitely benefits from some extra weight in the head.

My Blades are an older version rather than the current CV. There is a new release of Blades due out later this year.

As a prestige mp user, I switched to the Ultra Tour modded because it was better Prestige. Played it for 2 years before stumbling onto the Yonex vcp97 310. This frame is awesome. Highly recommend you give it a go.

Interesting, I just demoed the Speed, UT, and VCORE, haven't had a chance to hit with it yet cause it's been constantly raining. Bad week for Demos. Wondering for those who have played with the UT. Can you get enough spin on your kick serves and groundstrokes? I like to think I have a decent kick serve that jumps quite a bit, don't wanna lose that.

I have no trouble generating spin on kick serves and groundstrokes with the UT. I have my UT leaded up but retained the headlight balance.

Similar specs but the WUT is def more of an old school frame. Speed had bigger sweet spot, more spin, more solid. I didn't pull the trigger on either, but thought Speed was much better.
