Head Graphene Touch Speed MP and PRO review

So, I've been becoming a convert to the GSTP. I'd immediately got about 4 strips of lead near 3 and 9 on the hoop; it was just so head light anyway. I've been skittish of previous shock issues with graphene, so I've started with NXT full bed, for the strings.

Surprise: I've already known the precision of it; I've felt it's a modern version of the PCG 100. But what took me off guard was that with the additional weight in the hoop, it has some really good controllable power. Groundies are solid. For me, the flex is ideal for volleying. I have been crushing the serve. It's always noted as low power, but it's so weight accessible, that that can be changed easily.

And what I've really been appreciating is that it seems to be able to go from defense to offense easily. I still have fondness for my Prince frames, however, this may seal the deal with me coming back to HEAD.

if the strang pattern wasnt so tight id be all about the speed pro.

Question to those using the current Speeds out there. I've been using a GTSP lately with about only 4 grams of lead around the hoop - single strips around 2:30/3:30 and 8:30/9:30. It seems substantially more powerful. So the question is, am I on crack, or does it take weight really well? (I'd assume this would apply to the GTSMP as well).

Maybe it takes weight really well. It probably has some weight at the poles, so adding some in the middle(ish) of the hoop would make sense. That is a tight string pattern.

Just an update on my setup with my HGTSMP. Added 4 grams at 12 and countered with 4grams of blutack in handle. I'm sitting at 333grams static with 3.5 HL balance and an estimated 338 swingweight. Full bed of Hyper G 17 at 48lbs. Solid response on groundies with increased plow through, spin and stability. Serves have increased in speed and depth in service box is better. Better news is that after hitting for two days with D1 player arm feels pretty damn good!
Do you have it yet? I wanna try the same setup...lacking stability and being pushed a lot on stock

Unfortunately Ive been in a crazy racquet switching phase lately and I’ve put the speeds away for now. The 4 grams at 12 was essential as I was playing with a heavy hitting D1 player this summer. I’ve had a full month or two with Phantom Pro 100 and now about to get it on with the Tecnifibre TFlash 300 PS!
The Speed with lead is a very nice setup! It increased the stability and plowthough and keep its awesome spin. One of the best serving racquets I’ve ever got with!

Thanks! I will try this... before switching or trying another frame

I've tried a few strings but not managed to find the right combination with the 18/20 dense pattern. I'm looking for a full bed of poly - I've tried cyclone which was too dead, cyclone tour too erratic. Tried a hybrid combo of Xcel and rpm.blast but didn't enjoy the lack of spin due to the Xcel. Has any one tries Lynx in the racket or alternatively another poly which could be recommended? I string usually at 53lbs and hit with power and spin.

i keep on going back to the MP and trying to add lead when this happens. i hit a noticeably heavier ball w that open pattern.

I really liked the full bed of Luxilon Alu Power 17G @53lbs. It only lasted around 8 hours, but the feel, control and power was the best with that string. Didn’t like Head Hawk Touch on it as much.

Played with the MP again today with weight added to 3 and 9. 3gs on each side. Loved the spin but serves are under powered. Any advice to help power on the serves?

Since the thread is already resurrected from the dead - what grommets fit the graphene touch pro?

And does anybody else play it with full bed of multis?

And what's wrong with the TWU stats of the touch pro? Swing weight 311 can't be right?

Also how does the stringbed density of the Pro compare to some other 18x20s? If anybody could compare them side by side.

i didnt know head grommets were racquet specific but i would contact head. Why do you need them? Arent the grommets included with the racquet?

sorry no one answered this one. in theory, any of the grommets for the graphene speed pros up to, but not including, the 360 version will fit. they might not look right unless they are specifically for the touch, though.

that SW is probably about right. despite being 310 g unstrung in weight, i found the SW of the touch to be pretty low.

the stringbed density, in the center, is as tight or tighter than any other racquet i have used. it opens up more toward the edges

lets put it this way, the center mains on the gpros are so close together its tough to get a vibration dampener between them
I am not sure if you have tried the GTSP - the mains are so tight in the middle that it feels like you are stringing through the same slot. Gravity Pro is far sparse than that. AFAIK GTSP is unique,

im getting acronym-confused. if you mean the graphene touch speed pro, then we are agreeing with each other.

Is the string pattern 18x20 for the Head speed touch pro as tight as the Head speed 360 and 360+ pro?

The Mains in the Wilson Ultra Pro 18x20 are almost as dense in the center as the Head Graphene Touch Speed Pro
