Head Graphene Touch Speed Pro information?

J-Wildcard

Semi-Pro
I have been using a head youtek prestige mp for around 8 years now, u have tried many other rackets but always gone back to old faithful. I did have the original graphene speed pro 2013 version and it was a nice racket for groundstrokes but I found it had a major drawback when playing at the net or in doubles, as the weight was in the throat I found it unpleasant to play with when switching sides quickly say at the net volleying for instance. I also felt it was little bit harsher on the arm than the youtek prestige but on a positive note gave more power on serve I thought and definitely more plow and topspin on my groundstrokes. My question is regarding the graphene touch speed pro, how is the weight distribution in the frame. Is the weight seemingly in the throat like the 2013 GSP or has this been resolved to feel more like a normal racket again. Any information would be appreciated as I was looking at giving the touch speed pro a go :)

The graphene touch speed I tried was very stiff and harsh in the hoop with no feel that it was a nonstarter even though first serve was good with it.

I hear great things about the 360 speed that it has better feel, but I've never used it.

Did you try the Graphene Touch Speed Pro. I remeber now using the MP version a few times while coaching and it was average, it was the nice black stealth paint job version with the red riding and I think it was strung up in full poly which had been in a while too.

The Graphene Touch Speed Pro is a lot stiffer than the Prestige you have right now, however, if you really liked your Prestige MP you might enjoy the new 360 Speed Pro. Overall I don't think it'll be a good transition from Youtek Prestige MP to Graphene Touch Speed Pro. The Graphene Touch Speed Pro's weight distribution I believe is fixed. They weighted it more in the handle and tip of the head than the throat this time.

I can give you some info on the 360 Speed Pro! The new Speed Pro this year is a racket many of my friends love. Head actually spaced out the 18x20 more than usual and that results in a bit more power and spin than usual. IT is a very comfortable racket with just the right amount of flex. They've also improved the stability. However, you, coming from one of Head's best rackets ever (Youtek Prestige MP), will notice a difference between the two for sure.

Honestly, it's all about finding a racket you like through trial and error. If you can go and try to demo some of the rackets through a pro shop or TW. Maybe you'll enjoy the stiffer feel of the Graphene Touch.

Differences and similarities between your Youtek Prestige MP and 360 Speed Pro
  • The flex rating on both rackets is around the same at around 62-63 RA. I can confirm that the 360 Speed Pro does feel nice, comfortable, and plush.
  • The swing weight on both rackets is the exact same. So swinging around the Speed won't feel much different.
  • The handle shape on the Prestige is more rectangular, while on the speed it is more of the square shape.
  • The head size between the 2 is only 2 sq in off, you won't notice much difference.
