Hello guys, we have learned that next year we'll have gravity 98 16x19 from tw's last video. This means Head's 98 silo will be more crowded than ever. Radical mp, radical pro, prestige pro, prestige pro 16x19, extreme tour, boom pro and as a last gravity 98. Having lots of options always good for customers but 7 rackets can be a bit overwhelming and confusing. I wonder what is your thoughts? Do you think Head will discontinue some of them?

It’s not overwhelming at all. I think it should come down to which racket family you like based on your needs.
Each family provides different players different needs (control/power/spin/feel/ect).
Once you find a family you like, you can decide which direction to go, 100 for more forgiveness ect, 98 for a tad more control, open vs closed pattern if it’s offered.

I'm curious if it's only available in 16x19 as it'd be a shame for the Tour to return to America only for them to change the mold and drop the 18x20 from the offering. the 18x20 of the Tour, at least previous generation, still provides plenty of spin...
to Dirk, I think it makes sense for Head to have at least one 98" within each silo. it is interesting that Radical continues to be neglected outside of the major mold change with the introduction of 360+. only 3 distinct frames in this silo

Really feels like the radical, prestige and boom silo's and almost the speed line if it wasn't their biggest silo could be covered by the Gravity line at this point.
Then the extreme can cover the power/spin portion of the other spectrum. But head wants to be the Baskin Robins of racket producers not the Neapolitan like Yonex/Babolat.

Gravity makes sense when you think of it as a new age classic Head racquet. I know the name kinda lends itself to the "up is down" feeling sometimes.
but it's easy to talk yourself into thinking that the Gravity Pro is a 100" successor to the true 89.5" Prestige Mid, Gravity Tour in its current form is a 100" successor to the Zebra, and Gravity MP in its current form is a 100" and 16x20 successor to the softer, lighter Radicals. I overlaid my Ti. Radical MP on top of a friend's Gravity MP and the hoops are pretty darn similar outside of the Gravity's trademark tear drop shape that is pronounced at 10 and 2 and there's a little more strung area by the throat piece at 6

Color me intrigued! I've been jonesing for something like a 98" Gravity. And I think the current paint job is a stunner. I've seen a post somewhere that the new PJ will be killer. I think they said "Trust me, you will WANT that!" I already do! Can't wait to hear more about this!

I feel like very few people especially recreational players can consistently play well with a 95.

I disagree. I'm not very good; with footwork and timing I'm able to hit fairly cleanly. it might help that I grew up playing with 95" racquets though
It's not as difficult as you think.
There are some very playable 95's available right now, assuming you can hit the center of the strings.
I wonder what will happen to the prestiges? I think it will be more niche line

Some modern 95's like the Dunlop CX200 Tour and Yonex Vcore 95 are essentially the same width as the 98 versions within their lineups. The area difference is mainly due to an elongated throat that results in shorter mains. Both examples are slightly heavier and thinner than the 98 counterparts but, if you can handle the weight, then hitting the strings isn't any more difficult. In fact, I chose the CX200 Tour over the regular CX200 because it had noticeably more plow-through.

Big hoops come with their own challenges. I'm a smaller guy so I recently asked myself why I'm playing with the same hoop/grip size as my friend who's 6'3" and has hands almost twice the size of mine. I couldn't think of one reason, and I play so much better with 95-98in heads bc they are just more 'my size'

No it's real. You're not imagining it.
I don't have an "ego" about my racquets. I've played with extended 100" PKs, Clashes, all kinds of stuff. But the smaller racquets unlock my game basically. And so much of it is how the racquet moves with you. I felt substantially faster to the ball once I started shrinking the racquets.

There’s nothing difficult about stringing a racket with CAP grommets. Those that have problems aren’t good stringers.

62, 65 doesn’t tell you anything meaningful. It’s the bending profile that matters but for that you’ll actually have to try the racquet. For instance, both the prostaff 95 and the clash are 58ra and yet they are nothing alike. The clash has a stiff hoop whereas the prostaff has a very flexible upper hoop and feels like a noodle.

I think you’re confused. Gravity is still Auxetic 1.0. The only Auxetic 2.0 so far is Speed, Boom, and Prestige.

No i am not. I referred to version 1 and version 2 of gravity line. Version 2.0 with auxetic is more muted than Version 1.0 360 plus

My guess is that the Prestige will be gone, at least in North America, as there's no reason to have this frame with a 98 Gravity (and the Gravity line in general).
Interestingly, I went into the largest tennis shop in the Minneapolis metro the other day (I live in the Dallas metro now), and they carry neither the Gravity nor the Prestige lines, as they don't see them as big sellers. I think going forward you'll see very few brick and mortar shops bothering with carrying the Prestige line. I play a lot of USTA leagues and tournaments at the 4.0 and 4.5 level, and in the last year I have not seen one player using a Prestige, and can only recall seeing a Gravity every now and then.
