Head Gravity 98 16x19 (Coming in 2025!)

Yeah, it is kinda weird when you think about it. Tennis influencers aren't really "influencing" anybody except for a select few who actually have large audiences. How much visibility are you really going to get with handing away samples to random influencers? That instagram page has 14k followers and only 22 likes for the reveal.

With that said. Definitely something I could potentially see working out well for my game.

hopefully I’ll eat my words when I try it, I’m struggling to see what the point of this racket is in the rest of the head line up.

I mean, what makes the gravity MP/TOUR/PRO special is the fact that they are 100in control racquets, with great feel and forgviness. Making a 98 one kind of takes away the most special part of the racquet.

Exactly. Everyone wanted a PD98/vs too—until it came out and no one bought it.

head clearly wanted to tease the public then.... not the final cosmetic either...

why do it with this influencer though ?
Probably because they wanted to try something different, and it likely only cost them a prototype frame, some time, some string and postage.

No major outlay for marketing, no standing up a webpage etc.

the Influence does all the work for them. As are we too when you look at the amount of effort that people like us are putting into hyping something they we have not even seen yet, and have been talking about for months, and before the RF01 was even being talked about.

A different approach, but also a rather cleaver one too. They also starter to drip feed info form other sources too, like TennisNerd. So just another way to do it. Will it work? only time will tell.

People who are asking what place this racquet has in Head's lineup, there is no 22 mm straight beam 98" racquet in Head's lineup. This is probably for people who want more from Radical Pro but not as much as Extreme or Boom Pro. Similar-ish to Prestige and Radical MPs. And if it's >60 RA, there are literally only two racquets in Head's lineup that can boast that.

I’d be curious to see if any of the gravity pros try it - I feel like someone like rublev makes sense on paper going from the 95” six one to the 100” gravity

Agreed with a bit of added weight (based on what appears to indicate it will be the same weight as the Gravity Tour)

The new HEAD Gravity Tour tennis racquet comes with a 98 in² head size for increased control
16x19 string pattern for more power and spin compared to Gravity Pro
New grommet construction for signature feel and sound and extra protection (Half Cap)
Frame construction inspired by Gravity MP and the previous Gravity Tour

Facts:
Weight 305 grams
Balance 320 mm
Ps. The racquet in my video is an exclusive teaser racquet, not the final cosmetic. Can’t wait to see the final product when it’s released in 2025

“Make a bigger impact – massive sweetsport, massive impact”

Was this guy properly authorised to disclose the above ? :-D

A Gravity racquet 16x19 98sq.in. , 305g /320mm (unstrung), half cap grommets

Really interesting - especially because this guy seems to have 14k Followers, but his posts get liked by around 50 people
This is super fishy and I wonder if Head was really aware of this...

Nevermind me now going to buy some followers and see if I can get a hold of this racket :D

curious about this half cap, whatever that means

anyone notice that TWE markets the 18x20 Radical MP as the Radical Tour?
Yeah i have no clue what they mean with Half CAP - full protection only halfway around the hoop?

At which point it can't be that much more than normal grommets...

Half Cap and Full Cap have been around forever at Head - it is basically what you see on PT57 and later Prestige models in style of grommets

Full means it is all around the hoop down to about 4 and 8 o'clock
Half cap is only until 3 and 6

probably something like the Pure Strike 97 which kind of has a cap grommet... I wonder if theyre taking players like Cerundolo off the prestige paintjob and using this to put them on Gravity
Good example, had never seen another brand have similar grommets except for maybe Angell, but they're half the width but go all the way round.

Am very well aware of Full CAP, but which Head rackets have had Half CAPs?

You can buy those for quite some rackets in the Prestige lineup to reduce swingweight
I don't know actually if any racket had it coming stock - and maybe the influencer here just wanted to say they have bigger grommets for extended protection?

I suppose the interesting thing will be if it can retain the Gravity feel and how that will play in a 16x19 string pattern.

I don't think it's possible for the (current) Pro / Tour versions... Maybe the Gravity MP's feel can be shifted / transferred to this new Tour.

@vsbabolat hey Unc, got lots of questions. what is a half cap grommet? are there older Prestige molds that this is borrowing from, or as someone mentioned, is this similar to the grommets on the 360+ Prestige Mid?

what's got you excited about this release?

Is this one a 22mm straight beam frame? From pics looks like a ti/i Radical with 98 sqi head.

There are other rackets that have a had half CAP grommets. The 1988 Elite and Elektra Pro, the Prestige Master, the Graphite Pro 600, Comp Pro 600, the Elektra Pro 600, and the Elite Pro 600. I think it’s a fantastic design that pro texts the racket and strings form court rash!!!!!! Most recently the Prestige Rev Pro and Prestige Mid of the Graphene era all had Half CAP grommets.
Edit: I also forgot the TXM, Graphite Master 660, Graphite Director 720, Comp Master 660, Elite Master 660, Elektra Master 660

Am i the only one, looking at the instagram post, who thinks that the shape of the hoop is not so typical gravity teardrop?

I can’t find the forum post or user that said on here who said it was the novak frame we all wanted from head .. thanks very much :)

Coming back to this: confidential 1.20 at ~22-23kg. I played a few games with it today. Very solid racket, very stable and because of the balance more to the head and ~330 SW plenty of plowthrough.
Can you comment on the density of the string pattern? Was looking at the clips again and thought it looked more open rather than a denser 16x19. I'd probably be more interested in the latter personally.

This was off-topic about the prince Synergy racket, not the head gravity 98

Does anyone know which mold was used for this frame? Looks like new mold, similar to tk113, but in 98 sqi head, very nice!

is the reason the Speed Legend is Djoko's last Speed PJ because he's going to be switched onto the Gravity line?

I do not know, looks like we are missing some inside knowledge.
But this new frames looks nice.
I was asking a question not having any inside knowledge but if the beam is so close to his frame potentially then it might make sense

Nice guy dr but it was definitely a load of rubbish head could not produce a user friendly novak frame 18*19 due to graphite and IP and other reasons

Head could have produced the frame made in China .

If Prince can produce amazing frames so can head.

The real issue is if people would have liked the frame to buy it and recommend it and buy multiple as the higehr swingweight 330 plus is not for the majority of players .. hazard a guess perhaps 90 percent or so ..

very excited by the specs but I have to say I don't love the PJ at all after seeing that instagram post.. hopefully it looks better outdoor.
