Hello there! Interested in people's thoughts on getting the 2025 Auxetic 2.0 Gravity Pro vs the 2023 Auxetic 1.0 Gravity Pro. I can get the 2023 version for about $100 less. My main worry is just the swingweight, I've heard that the 2025 version is easier to use and more maneuverable but just wanted people's thoughts. Thanks.

What kind of racket are you switching from and what is your play style like? Lots of volleying or more baseline oriented?

Hello there,

I’m coming from Prince Warrior 100 so around 315 grams strung and 320 swing weight. I like playing all court and a lot of doubles so volleys are important and I play 1HBH mostly flat and semi western forehand.

I tried out Gravity MP and Pro Percept 97 and 97D and Ezone 100 and 98 and just preferred the feel of the Gravity Pro. Would like to do more demoing but I decided to stop obsessing as I really enjoyed the Gravity Pro.

I’ve heard some people say the 2025 Pro is very similar to 2023 while others say it is far more comfortable and maneuverable than 2023 hence the dilemma choosing between the discounted 2023 and new 2025.

Thanks for your help.

due to variation i swingweight, you could find an auxetic 1.0 model with a lower swingweight than a 2.0 model, even if the average seingweight of the 2.0 is lower. Can you get it measured before you buy?

Not sure. There is a local shop which has about 3 in stock in my grip size. Not sure if that is a standard service they offer. I know TW offers but they are all sold out.

I haven’t tried the 2025 so I can’t compare, but since you said you really enjoy the 2023 GPro, why go further? For myself, I had the same experience - demoed the ‘23 and loved it and was glad to get the discounted price. After playing with it for a few months and confirming that I really enjoy playing with it, I picked up a second GPro ‘23 as they started to disappear with shelves. I like the swing weight and plow through and stability and I’m super happy to have gotten a great deal on both. I don’t notice any maneuverability issues and have been volleying in doubles better than I ever have.

Can't hurt to ask. A lot of (though not all) tennis shops have a swingweight machine.

I tried the 25 actually. Sorry I should have clarified.

Tougher call then. From what I understand the difference is subtle, but if you buy the ‘23 and don’t like it as much, you’re out $170 to save $110. Why not buy the ‘25 that you loved - you’ll be more current on the generation, it’ll be easier to get yourself a matched pair, etc.

If you value the savings more, I think you’ll be happy with the ‘23. As people have noted, due to QC differences a ‘23 you buy might be just as close to the racket you tried as a random other ‘25. If you can be happy with the savings and don’t look back, you can spend the savings on new strings and restringings to really dial in your setup.

Thank you for your help. I’m going to ask the shop if they can measure SW. if they can I’ll go 23 if they can’t I’ll go 25. Thanks again much appreciated and happy to be in the Gravity Pro club!

Hey all!

Does anyone have any experience removing the steel weights from the hairpin in the 2019/2021 Gravity Pros, and woukd be willing to share their process?

I've heard of people doing something similar to their RF97s and am hoping I can save myself a lot of money removing the weights myself, rather than pulling the trigger for TGT 344.4s when they pop up. Thanks to everyone in advance!

How many people using 1.15g strings? I’ve got a set of hyper g 18 coming in to try and open up the racket more

Heck yeah! Even went down to 1.10 as well. Love it also for decreasing swingweight somewhat as well.
Though today I’ve used 4G rough 1.25 which felt good as well.

I was using Hyper G 1.15mm for a long time.
But with new generation, I've switched to Lynx Tour 1.20mm for more power, and longer lasting strings.
GPro 2025 isn't really as heavy as previous generations, way lower SW in my use case, so no need for 1.15mm strings. And 1.20mm feels pretty open to me already.

Hi! I've been hitting with the Gravity Pro 25. It's pretty close to spec, 316 static, 296 SW, 31.3 balance. It feels amazing. I've pretty easily unlocked the power of the flat slap on the forehand side, kick and flat serves are great, obviously volleys are sweet. The feel is just so good. The place I'm struggling a bit is defending heavy balls on the backhand side with my 1 hander. I am coming from a pure strike tour v3, pro staff V14 with a fairway grip kind of place. With the Pro Staff, I'm rewarded the same as the Gravity when I hit a perfect backhand, but when I'm really needing a shield, because of bad foot work or just an off center hit, the pro staff stays stable and allows me to at least get a bad shot over the net, but with the Gravity, if I hit off center I feel a pretty good amount of flutter and the rally is over. Now if I get the wrist loose and crack the backhand, it's better than the prostaff in terms of power and ball quality. But, it's during that tough defense that the GP becomes really unforgiving. I'm curious if there is a mod that might increase stability in this area without ruining the racket. I'm good with SW up to 330-332 so there is room to add weight to the hoop. I'm also good up to 325 unstrung static, and have an assortment of leather grips so I can add weight to the handle area pretty easily as well. Thanks for any good ideas you might have.

Try adding some lead to 3&9 or (if you tend to play close to the tip when defending) 2&10.

Like 1.5-2g total, counterbalance if needed.

3 and 9 sounds like a nice place too start, sometimes a misshit on my part, ends up being just above the sweetspot at 9 o'clock, and think the PWS of the prostaff helps even that strike out a bit... so adding weight to that same place might be nice.

1 and 2 gen GP didn’t have the issue with wide hoop and 335-340 SW. Very decent off-center.

But with new GP at lower SW, you might suppose twistweight to drop as well, and you never know how much. With flexy thin beam lack of perimeter mass might feel unforgiving.

I joined this club last month and am quite happy with the result. I had been playing with the Solinco Whiteout for a while, but was finding it a bit underpowered and stiff for my liking. The Gravity feels significantly more flexible and easy on the arm while delivering more power than the Solinco, particularly on flatter attacking shots.

Not a lot of movement in this club. Anyhoo, I've been experimenting with strings to find the magic combination and so far I've given two sets a fair shot. I've got Tourna Big Hitter Silver in one and Head Lynx Tour in the other. While the Tourna provides the crisper feel, I feel that it's a bit tougher to get heavy spin out of it than with the Lynx Tour. Of course, being an 18x20, spin is never going to be world class, but I've found it easier to push opponents back with the Lynx Tour when needed.

One of the pleasant surprises with the frame so far it that it deals really well with pace. I train a few high level junior who really crank up their shot speed. They miss way more than I'm comfortable with, but occassionally, they blast heavy shots that land. Those shots can push lots of frames around, but not the Gravity Pro. The Gravity Pro has a low enough seingweight that it's not hard to get it into position, but it's high enough and stable enough to deal with the pace without fluttering. In fact, it's the ability to keep these bombs in play that often leads to the eventual error that wins the point.

By the way, I'm constantly telling younger players that errors decide way more points than winners, so they should be focused on keeping balls in play, but lots of them watch too many Youtube highlights and prefer to play hero ball. Oh well.

I am still iffy on the pro. I used the 2023 auxetic and the maneuverability has not been easy in 3 setters here in Florida heat /humidity. But it was usually the serve is where it wore me down. Baseline I could handle No issue.

I opted back for my Tfight 305

I have a 23 GP and I never gelled with it. That is until recently when I swapped the leather grip for a synthetic one. The reduction in weight has made a lot better. Wasn't expecting that at all.
I like a leather grip better on everything.

I'm playing with the 360+ version, which didn't come with a leather grip. So far, I'm not tempted to add weight to the handle, so I haven't experienced a version that is more head light than the one I play with.

Sorry, I should have clarified. None of them come stock with a leather grip. I just put one on them as soon I got them, like I usually do. So I never hit with the stock grip on the GP before that.

I'm surprised that the swingweight tends to be so high on the early Gravity Pros. I've got two of them strung up and they certainly don't feel like they are in the 335 swingweight range. Perhaps the weight is distributed in a way that makes them feel more maneuverable to me. Either way, I get the maneuverability I need along with the plow through I crave, so whatever the swingweight is, it works for me.

I bought myself into this club with a secondhand Head Gravity Pro 2025 (L2 4 ¼) strung with Isospeed V18 (1,12 mm) at 23/22 kg (~50,7 / 48,5 lbs) for 110 €.
After 4 hours of pretty intense play time I was absolutely impressed by this setup even tough I didn't had high hopes for the V18 (the stats on TWU don't look too good on screen).
I am used to thin and flexibel frames but this setup really really great. The only downside for me was the kick serve which always has been my weak point.
Next I will try Grapplesnake Alpha (1,25 mm) at the same tension.

I use mine as a backup now but always liked it with sharp-edged thin gauge poly for a little extra lift and spin. Pure Rush, Cyclone, and the like strung fairly low.
I'm using shaped strings as well. However, the Head Lynx Tour I'm playing with is 6 sided and the sides aren't necessarily sharp, so their effect on the string bed is limited. As to the tension. I've had mine at 48lbs since the start. That's been constant except for a time where I strung up the frame and forgot to tension the final cross strings because I was in a rush and screwed up the string job. In order to salvage my disaster, I decided to play with it anyway. The results were suboptimal, but acceptable for a few hits.

Lynx Tour 1.20mm 21-20kg. I have tried multiple thin strings, but always come back to lynx tour. Simply perfect for my GPro.

Which version GP? I am considering the GP coming from Blade v9 with gut mains, thinking the lower RA of the 2025 would be nice.
2023 GP, it is a very arm friendly setup with good pop. I get decent spin too with the setup. Why do you want to move away from the blade? I went from V7 blades to 2023 GP to V14 Pro Staff. I love playing with them all but they are very different racquets.

Ah, there is a very good deal on a 2023 grip 4 currently, maybe i will look again at that classified listing. The Blade is good overall, i stray but return for comfort with its 62 ra and foam filling. I wouldn’t mind just a hair more comfort so i keep trying new rackets.

The Pro Staff, awesome racket, good time to stock up

I am a confused person. I played an rf97 never had an arm issue, then blade with poly gave me TE, which mostly resolved going back to gut. Tried all the aero throat rackets aero, vcore, ezone, liked them more than blade but bothered my arm even w gut. When i switched to blade from RF97 maybe just should have gone standard pro staff.

I don’t play with full polys but have tried a few times. I prefer gut mains and poly cross and have 2023 dabbled in some hybrid setups. The Gravity Pro is a little sluggish for me on defense and against heavy hitters. Otherwise, I love the The Pro Staff is easier to maneuver, play defense, hit shots on run, etc. It maybe doesn't have the same satisfying weight as the RF97 or crushing mass of a Gravity Pro but it is heavy and stable enough for meX

Never heard of them. What are they like? Stiffness/shaped v round?

I have Gen 1 gravity pro's, I do really like them, but I've always been really curious to see that these might be like with a 16/18 or 16/19 string patterns.

I love the feel and plough of the GPro, I keep trying other frames, eg TF40 315, eZone 98Tour, but keep coming back to the GPro. I keep away from poly as I've never really felled with it. i do have on of my racquets strung up with full PTP, which I use when is damp, but the other is Rip Control mains with Velocity crosses @55lbs. I find this works great with my swing speed.

But always wondered what this would feel like with the more open string pattern. I have a very old POG OS, and find the open string pattern in that is great for getting some work on the ball without swinging away like Thomas Muster. I think this will be something I will never get that actually try.
