Hi racketmaniacs,

I was wondering if someone played with this pro stock and could tell me if it is worth it to buy a TGT344.4 instead of a retail gravity pro frame. I am just wondering what is the difference? If I have the same setup with leather grip and all.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Same mold, same layup, same manufacturing site...
The TGT344.4 comes without commercial weights in the handle, making it lighter and probably filled up with silicone and counterbalanced with lead. Silicone and lead may alter the feel as silicone dampens the vibrations...
Worth paying for it....up to you

Thx! Do you know if the weights are molded inside the Pallet?

Thanks for the fast reply! So the only difference could be like the polerisation or twist weight? And do you have any feedback from playing with the racket?

Thanks again for the quick answer, very nice

The weights are not molded into the pallet unless placed there during customization. dr325i was explaining the steel weights that are added to the hairpin near the handle during the molding process even before pallets are installed. These weights are used in your standard retail racquets. The TGT344.4 and the vast majority of Head prostock racquets do not come with the steel weights added in the handle but everything else about the racquet is the same as retail. This gives more flexibility in customizing.

The twistweight will probably be close to what you’d find retail. The only difference would be that the retail racquet comes with steel weight in the handle that cannot be removed without damaging the structural integrity of the racquet in the handle. So in a roundabout way, yes, the polarization could be different depending on where you or the previous owner placed their weight (silicone, lead, etc). But the essence of the racquet itself is the same as retail. I own a few retail and a non-retail.

Is there a site where you can check these pro stocks out? I love the Gravity Pro but the SW is just a tad too heavy for me.

Wow! Can you please elaborate on how you like these sticks? I assume these are the ones Zverev and Rublev play?

Rublev and Zverev play with the same mold as the Gravity Pro but Zverev, I believe, plays with a slightly different string spacing. I cannot comment on what Rublev is using. I also cannot comment on the layups as I do not know that information.
All I know is that the shape/mold is the same.
These TGT344.3 feel just like the Gravity Pro you can buy from any retailer because they're 99% identical. They just come without the steel weight which gives me the flexibility of getting 315g Pros with Head Calfskin grips.
There's nothing really special about them except that they came uncut from the factory so I also had the option of picking a length greater than the standard 27"
All in all they're what you can get in the store except they come lighter and taller.

So when you say they don't have the steel weight inside the racquet (in the handle, I think) how does that change the racquet specs? Ah, lighter and taller, meaning you can customize them from there.

I'm asking because while I love the Gravity Pro in stock form the weight is just beyond my ability. I lack the racquet speed on my forehand and serve to move into that weight class. I'm perfectly fine with the Gravity Tour, but the feel of the Pro is just sublime.

Does the lack of steel weight in the handle affect the feel of the racquet?

Where did you get those??

The bare hairpins came in at around 236g (no pallet, unstrung, greater than standard length).
I do not remember the weights of Pro stock pallet and buttcaps off the top of my head so let's assume pallets weigh 20g and a buttcap 12g, leather grip adds 25g (made up number).
Total weight unstrung would be 293g. This is also assuming an XL racquet!
Adding all of these would put the racquet comfortably below 300g. It is possible to get Gravity Tour-like specs in a pro stock Gravity Pro. This is the beauty of prostock - the additional level of customizability.

Assuming the feel of the Gravity Pro can still be captured in a slightly lighter stick. I love the Gravity Tour. It's great and I'm settled on it. But if I could get a Gravity Pro, with that unique thick-thud feel, at 11.5oz strung and a SW between 324-328, that would be awesome.

Is that possible? Is RA still 61 low?

TGT344.1 = Gravity Pro with 16x19 string pattern (Ash Barty)
TGT344.3 = Gravity Pro 18x20 with non-parallel drill pattern of the TGT263.x (Zverev and Rublev)
TGT344.4 = Gravity Pro pro-stock version of the retail TGK344.3 18x20

could you explain what the non-parallel drill pattern means?

I can confirm that the specs you're wanting can be done with a prostock Gravity Pro.
I can't guarantee it will have the "thick-thud" feel you're looking for as it's subjective. When swingweight is decreased, you'll lose some of that solid feeling, but by how much, I'm not sure.
The RA will be the same.

Essentially right now my Gravity Tour with overgrip and dampener is 11.7 oz, 324 swingweight and around 4 points HL. Getting a Pro at or under 330 SW would be very interesting.

Question then is if the feel of the Pro is about weight or beam thickness.

No. If it did it wouldn’t be called 344.4

Someone in the holic thread said they got a brand new TGT344.4 T2, and they believe the T2 refers to the layup, which means it has Auxetic.

My TGT344.4s (both 2021 paint) are T1, so he may be onto something, but I wouldn't know for sure. Maybe @dr325i can confirm?

Yes, some of them are the PJ of the 360+ and some are of Auxetic. T2 are Auxetic (just like my TGT341.1 T2 Gravity Tours)

Wondering if there will be new 2025 pro stocks available soon... As I would like a 18x20 Tour version, in 100sqi or even 98sqi. Any information would be much appreciated....

The benefit of the 344.4 is that you can get a Gravity Pro in different specs, which typically are going to be lighter than the 315g retail stock weight, yet it has silicone in the handle and leather grip giving it even better feel.

I’m guessing there’s no way to tell if the racket is a TGT344.4 T1 or TGT344.4 T2 without looking at the hairpin?

I really like the 2023 GP but I want the same but lighter. That would be TGT344.4 T2 right?

Also, the 2023 Gravity Pro grommet strips that can purchased on TW would for the TGT344.4 right?
And the 2025 GP grommet strips, wouldn’t?

Yeah, should be same from the outside.

Probably, but theoretically there could be layups inbetween.

Yes
