Just some info:

I asked **** about Volkl pallets.

They said it would cost $40 for the new pallet and installation.

That is ridiculously expensive. A Volkl pallet costs me $25 (about $22US) in Australia and it requires only about 5-10 minutes of my time to replace.

Well, **** is world class service. and a pro charges you 15$ for 10 minutes of his service, is not too ridiculous, IMO.

I understand they are top-notch racquet technicians but that price is pretty steep.

That is especially the case since I once purchased a pallet from TW for $7.

I used to like the idea that I didn't have to worry about grip size when looking for good deals on Volkl frames.

Yes, it is ridiculous. **** might be world class but replacing the pallet on a Volkl racquet does not require someone of that calibre. It's like going to a podiatrist and asking him to change the laces in your shoes.

snoopy,

If it's of any help, the new Becker racquets have interchangeable pallets that will also fit onto older Volkl racquets and vice versa.
