Head Hawk Touch and Yonex Poly Tour Strike

I have Head Hawk Touch and I recently bought packs of Yonex Poly Tour Strike. Both strings look the same and feel the same. They both have the slick coating and the only difference (that I can see) is the printing on the string.

Are these the copies of each other? Or are they same string branded as Yonex and Head?

What colours do you have? I have only strung Black PTS and I thought it was more slippery than Hawk.

In my country, PTS is quite a bit more expensive than Hawk so if it is indeed a copy, Yonex is genius.

Both of what I have is the grey color. In hand it feels the same...it's possible that they play different (one being soft, the other being firm). I will post a pic of what I have.

jus cuz they feel the same in hand does not mean they feel the same when hitting with it...im not sure about differences in playability but yonex has best in class tension duration cuz they prestretch their strings and manufacture their strings the best imo

please disregard lines below.. how did it play ???

(((perfect time to try a side by side play test)))
(((is that what you had in mind??)))

How does Hawk compare with PTS?

not sure if you tried this string yet
I just tried it myself, and had to coment on it
both the head.hawk.touch and yonex.poly.tour.strike feel about the same
both crisp smooth round polys, both being durable
I have yet comment seriously on the spin
its a crisp string, but not uncomfortable unless you string too high

im trying 3 strings right now to compare, all silver/gray, all 17g,
poly.tour.strike/lux.alu.power/topspin.cyber.flash
hard/medium/softer comfort
all 3 strung at 49/46lbs on my yonex.sticks

Reviving this one — about to pull the trigger on a reel of PTS but wanted to see if there is any other similar round poly? Is HHT worth a shot, or anything else that could be recommended?

Afraid I cannot compare with PTS as I have never tried it, but I do like HHT. It is very controlled but not dead, a bit of liveliness and spring to it somehow while remaining very controlled. Feels like a good pocketing sensation. A fairly comfortably crisp, I would say. I like low tensions but find HHT was great at 44 lbs when I tried it in a Head Extreme Tour but when I tried it at 42 lbs in a Radical MP it was too springy and launched the ball a bit uncontrollably. As a result of this I string it a bit higher than I do something like Lynx Tour, but not necessary a lot more. Not sure if any of that is helpful but my impressions/experiences.

No that's appreciated I think I need to test it out now before I decide on my next reel haha

Hawk Touch, iirc, is made in Austria by Isospeed, while all Yonex stuff is made in Japan.

So despite any similarities they can't be literally the same string.

very helpful! how many lbs higher do you string hawk touch compared to lynx tour?

Not a whole lot, 2-3 lbs higher. I am actually considering comparing them again in my current racquets. My feeling is the higher you go the less I would expect it matters. Just that Lynx Tour to me handles very low tensions, say 42 lbs really well, whereas I felt there was a drop off with Hawk Touch below 44 lbs. So, somewhat more of a matter of absolute tension rather than always stringing it higher, I hope that makes sense. Of course usual caveat of how personal it all is, I am just a big fan and proponent of low tensions.
