HEAD Lynx / HEAD Lynx Tour - Any difference in power?

I remember playing with Lynx Tour a couple of years ago and thought it was quite low powered in the Pro Staff 97 V14 compared to my usual Alu Power at the same diameter and tension. Is there any difference between Lynx Tour and regular Lynx in regards to the power level?

Lynx is pretty powerful as far as polys go, but it's an elastic kind of power and a pretty different feel from ALU Power. Lasts only a tad longer, too, so while I enjoyed it I have a hard time recommending it.

Really there's very little in common between Lynx and Lynx Tour. I think Head just named them that because they're trying to communicate "for rec players" and "for good rec players."

Yes, it is more powerful and feels very different.

Lynx is the better string, IMO.
Better feel, pretty good spin for a round poly, good control for a soft poly. Tension maintenance does suffer but the string remains playable it's just more springy/more trampoline effect after losing tension.
Very arm-friendly though

While the tension maintenance is bad, it stays playable for a surprisingly long time.
For the rec players who want poly but restring once a year it's a good option. Stays bouncy without getting harsh.

What tension? I find Lynx Tour pretty powerful and arm friendly at 50lbs on v13 with some lead at 12.

Big difference. Lynx is a lot softer and has noticeably more pop. Very comfy, although slightly muted string. Round profile. Tension maintenance is pretty awful, unfortunately. Great option for intermediate and below players, or juniors stepping up to poly from softer strings. Advanced players could totally play with it too (believe Mischa Zverev did FWIW), but due to tension maintenance playability window will likely be an issue.

Lynx tour is shaped (although not in an in your face kind of way). Much firmer string than Lynx and tension maintenance is very good. Better suited to players with high RHS. Important to point out that Lynx tour runs big - the 1.25 variant feels (and weighs) more like 1.30 and 1.30 is more like 1.35. Head does make an 1.20 variant, but availability is limited in the US. (Although I thought I recently saw sets are now available on TW, though). Also worth pointing out that the different colors play differently. IME the orange color is the most lively and probably a little softer. I personally preferred the gray and Champaign variants.
