Head lynx tour - Is the extra durability from the 16g much better than the 17g ?

I got my gravity pro strung with lynx tour grey 17g @49 lbs and it broke after 3 weeks. I was considering switching to the 16g one for extra durability, but I liked how it felt in 17g. So I’m just wondering if the 16g lynx tour is really that much more durable than the 17g one, because if it’s not I’m just gonna stick with the 17g.

3 weeks is not bad. Assuming you play around 6 hours per week, 18 to 20 hours is quite fine for a poly to last. In fact, your string may have already lost its elasticity and become dead by then.

Ok thanks a lot. It’s just that my nearest pro shop is 35min away from where I live so I got to make every trip count

Finding a cheap drop weight and just buying a reel of lynx tour gonna save you lots of time and money in the long run imo. You can string your own racket in the amount of time it takes you to drive to the shop.

Better get more frames than a thicker string imo. You don’t want to play a string well past its playability duration (not the same as the string breaking).
