Head Prestige Classic Replacement Grommets?

Hey, do you guys know if I can use the grommets from the newer prestiges (microgel...youtek?) to replace the brownish ones on my prestige classic?

They're wearing down on one of my rackets and I think the black would look cooler than the brown anyway.

and is the square inchage (haha...made up words) really 89.5 instead of the quoted 93? I heard it was because head measures the total area by including the string bed and frame.

called Head and they said the new ones probably won't fit (even though microgel and youtek grommets are interchangable), because they change the pattern slightly each time.

but the guy is sending me out a couple of the right grommets (they're for the prestige classic 600, which I believe is the same racket) for free

The pattern was not changed. What happen is when HEAD started to have the Prestige Mid manufactured in China they started to drill the grommet hole in a smaller diameter. Therefore the MG and YT Prestige grommet barrels are a smaller diameter. So you can fit the YT and MG Prestige Mid grommets on the Prestige Classic. But you CAN'T fit the brown Prestige Classic C.A.P. Grommets on the YT and MG Prestige Mid racquets.

^thanks a lot for that info. the guy at head was helpful, but he didn't seem 100% sure.

the red, i'm probably only getting rid of 1, which i'd be glad to give you; it's in good working order. But you should call head if you need any, because you can get new ones and not my used one. I called the head/penn racket number on their site and they were quite helpful.
