Head prestige classic

Hey guys I have a question that boggles me...

When I've taken a look at the old prestige classic, I've seen one racquet that says prestige classic and one that says prestige classic 600. Both in that beautiful red they come in :) they look the same except for the name. Can any one tell me the difference?

Also I recently acquired a Richey Renebergs racquet from '93 the head prestige pro 600. Still has the stringing tag from 12/28/92 and also has the glass bead pads at the throat grommets. I had cut the strings once I received the racquet to relieve stress on the frame. How much is this racquet worth?

Thanks guys hope to get some responses soon
Cheers

There is no difference between the Prestige Classic and Prestige Classic 600. The reason why one has Prestige Classic and one says Prestige Classic 600 is because the one with only the Prestige Classic written on it was for the U.S. Market. While the Prestige Classic 600 were for the European market.

That Prestige Pro 600 is worth what someone is willing to pay and condition.

I had a feeling vsbabolat would come to the rescue :) thank you very much for sharing your great knowledge. Yea that prestige pro that I acquired was virtually brand new just a few scuffs on the head bumper and it didn't have the leather which was a bummer... Now I'm wondering was it worth what I paid? Hm....*scratches head*

How much would y'all pay for a prestige pro 600 in that condition?

There's a new one listed for $888 at the bay and a used one in 7.5/10 condition for $399.

Personally, I would not shell out more than $175 for one in 8.5/9.0 condition.

I have seen close to mint pc600s selling for not much more than $100 recently. Thats a great deal considering that they are one of the best classic rackets and better than the more expensive new models IMO.

Its sad that if the racket discussed in this thread does sell, it will be because somebody really loves that pro model and probably wants to play it. The fact that it was owned by Richey Reneberg really adds no value, even if it was customized for him. Unless, Richey wants his old magic stick but he is probably playing a new model that Head gives him free.

Have you considered TW leather grip? It's more affordable.

Joe, certain very select players can still get the PC600.

Yes, understand. Im not sure which all players have the Youtek picassos and which ones are playing them with the pro stock customizations other than paint. I do think the Head rackets are tops, both old and new.

Thanks for the video link. Nice story showing mold and layup process.

Head made great rackets but I wish the marketing team stop using fake paint jobs.. For top of the line racket, pros racket they should make it as Pros quality one so every body to enjoy.. I think they would sell alot more than the current line up right now.. At my local store, those Head MG, Youtek prestige line just sat there and eventually ON SALE.. so for the profit point of view, it's not really benefit much from those fake paintjobs.. They can easily sell the racket for full price lets say $229 but Pros quality..
