*** Head Prestige MID 16x19 (TGK237.2) with Dunlop AG100 Grommets -Fit? (kind of) ***
So I had 4x TGK237.2s (16x19 Prestige MID). One cracked, so now I have 3. I took the CAP grommets off the cracked one as replacement parts since these CAP grommets are now impossible to replace.
It still really makes me mad  Head doesn't make replacement CAPs for these great rackets. We need to continue to let Head know that a Prestige MID 16x19 should be part of their commercial available line. I believe selling +10,000 world wide wouldn't be a problem.
Anyway, I picked up a few Dunlop AG100 MIDs since the specs were so close to the 237.2 and found I really like the AG albeit different from the 237.2.
I just got some replacement grommets today for the AG100 and thought I'd try to see if they would fit on my cracked 237.2. Keep in mind the AG100 grommets are not a CAP style grommet set so balance will be totally different.
The top bumper guard part fits perfectly. It isn't as wide as the CAP but does protect the majority of the frame. The problem is the side grommet part does not quite fit after the 10th going up from the side because of the spacing on the 237.2 gets a fraction wider there. If you cut the grommet strip at that point it will fit fine with a tiny space between the 2 parts.
I was thinking in the future I could use this as a grommet replacement solution along with head tape to protect the sides and compensate for the weight difference versus the full CAP. I also think a hybrid will work by cutting the CAP and just use the AG100 bumper since thats where most of the wear is on the CAP.
Either way its kind of ghetto but at least its something.
Anyway, just thought I'd share.
