Head "Pro Stock" Racket For $149.99 Alert!!!

Second hit today and have to say… it plays beatifully and literally is a weapon. Served also my personal record 184 kmh! Stringbed very controlled and you can flat your shots also with no problem at all! I beat a guy 6-2 on training set, who I’m usually playing against very tight set’s and matches.

The more I play with it, the less the (cheaper) layup seems to bothers at all. I guess you get used to whatever layup, I remember the first hit with PT57A and with Pro Tour 630 and I was in heaven, month later didn’t even pay attention anymore to the soft solid feel and flex anymore, was just a racket like any else.

After that have hitted maybe with 30 different frames. I guess the point is the performance of the racket is nowdays much more important for me because concentrating on playing more matches and points nowdays.

This Elite thing customized is for sure very good all-rounder and makes tennis a lot easier!

If the IG Extreme Pro 2.0 blows my mind, maybe have to send those for custom paint and tuning for fresh paint! :P

Yeah seems to have legit QC? I guess they marked wrong static weight 260g, should have been 265g! :D
Regarding QC. I really guess they marked it wrongly ;-). Excellent QC.
Wanted one more for me and another for a friend of mine. These two arrived yesterday.
1. my first frame: 264.6gr
2. yesterday I/II: 264.4gr
3. yesterday II/II: 264.9gr

Balance: 34.5, 34.5, 34.3cm

a pity i could not measure yet the SW.

Ok, mine will travel to the Bay Area next. Gino can decide where it goes from there

The extreme elite arrived safely. Paintjob is a really classic extreme beauty, nice soft matte. Thanks again for sending around man. Excited to get this one out on the court, especially given the mods you’ve made

This is great. Have you used the ig extreme pro? I’d love to get a comparison there to one of my all time favorites. Damn this is really exciting for me since the only thing close with the old apd string pattern are my origins.

Super tempted to grab one of these at some point and match it to my IG.

It’s been many moons since I hit ig extreme pro but the memory is there. Those were sweet sticks. Will report back mate

This is exactly what I think @Donmikan intended the thread to provide. Make a few key mods and suddenly, there you are. A really nice modern head stick for $150. Yes, the layup will be a little less plush than regular head silos, but maybe that’s a welcome thing for some. The beam design does look like a frame that would make for easy groundies and serves. Excited to get it on the court given your feedback above

Alright everybody, got a chance to get this on court and put my thoughts into video. Hope you guys enjoy the video format and that my thoughts can advise you on if one of these makes sense for you. I’m going to do a longer write up later on tonight when I sit down with my preferred libation, but for now, this should do

Just wanted to provide a stream of consciousness on how I felt about this frame at large. I think it’s a really viable option for most competitive players in 2025. You definitely need to have some open mindedness on the hoop and beam design because it’s not a traditional tennis racket. It seems to come through the air a little bit slower, but upon contact like I mentioned in the video, the sweet spot is massive. That massive sweet spot is great for generating easy pop and spin but not so great for picking up pinpoint target on the court. There’s just trade-offs when it comes to this type of design. I think you’re getting a lot more forgiveness than the typical head stick, but also you might lose a little bit of control relative to other 100 inch offerings in their product portfolio .

In regards to the layup. I don’t think this layup is bad to be clear. It just has more direct and sensation than most modern head layups. It reminds me of the TI radical in that it’s not the most plush experience, and there is a lot of direct feedback from the string bed. In terms of molds, this one definitely reminds me of the micro gel and youtek iterations. To your question @Power Player - I’d say this one direct comparison with the youtek IG is even more direct and raw feeling. Out of the box this one also seems a little bit stiffer than those older extremes. That inherent stiffness is actually a pretty cool attribute for the stick because it’s a rocket launcher in my opinion.

If you are someone who historically has love for the extreme line or comes from stiff or more powerful 100 inch frames, this one is definitely a great platform for you. Like @Donmikan suggested with the title of this thread, the extreme elite is definitely a great customization platform for the average person. You’re not gonna get that buttery smooth response from a legit pro stock, but you will get an awesome platform to build out your own spec with. Anybody who use the extreme in those early years could definitely use this one seamlessly. Maybe even those fed up with Babolat stiffness could find a nice home with this one

I have gotten my Extreme Elite racket yesterday and quickly adjusted the factory settings (265,9gr, 274 SW and 34,2cm Balance) to 305gr weight, 292 SW and 31.5 Balance (5gr in the hoop at 12, 28gr Silicone in the handle and leather grip). The string of choice for this test is Pure Rush 1.23 at 22/21kg.

My current racket is a Head Boom Prostock (nearly same specs, but higher SW) and compared to this, the Elite has more power, better Spin potential, very forgiving and you dont have the feel, to play a "cheap" frame. The feel is dampened, but i have to say, that i like it. Control is good, not much of a difference for me compared to the boom pro-stock, maybe a tad less. Volleys are very good with this frame. The only downside is my serve, because the racket feels a bit more "clunky", means while accelerating to the trophy phase, it takes long/have to use more power and therefore my timing is off. But holy cow, when the timing is right, I hit bombs. 2nd servers are very good as well, as i can utilize the spin potential of the racket to make good kick and slice servers.

All in all, after 1,5h of playing the racket feels amazing and I am looking forward to play a match next time, to see its true face.

Nice to hear this one worked for you. I totally agree about the chunky nature of the stick. Can definitely be a bit cumbersome. Still a really fun hit, report back after you get a chance with it on the match court!

Also - anyone in the states feel free to PM me if you want to be the next one to try, I'd love to take this to the post office tomorrow (can only ship on Fridays).

Hey guys, I might buy a couple of elite and customise them
I was wondering if the pallets are TK82S (most likely) or TK82 (making the elite a complete blessing from Head ^^)
Cheers

Hi Gino! Was wondering if I could try the racket. I started with the ig extreme pro 2.0, and it was my first real racket too. Although I vaguely remember, I kinda wanna compare both lol

you can but must pass it on when done!

Appreciate you chiming in to try. I can ship tomorrow. I’ll PM you to get your addrsss. As long as you’re in the US, all good. And as @dr325i says, just make sure to pass it along once you’ve had a chance to test it. Cheers !

Just replied to your pm! I’ll post on what I think about the racket as soon as I can hit with it!

I definitely need to further gel in with the racket and work on my timing, mainly because I am late on nearly every shot when in game mode. Especially the serve is a hit or miss thing. I had a test match against a friend of mine, who is running his ass off to reach every ball (successfully) and when the timing is not right due to lost of concentration during the play, I gave "easy" points away. I lost in champions tiebreaker, which is a pity, but I am very confident to beat him next time much easier when having more mileage on the racket.

Its a fantastic racket for me, as it suits my game style very well plus I'm not having any arm discomfort at all.
That being said, I will prepare myself with this racket for the upcoming summer season.

Got my second hit with the racket last thursday. Feels muted as expected but can still feel a little bit of vibrations. I think it might be the cause of layup of the racket. Very spinny racket of course, high launch angle, but still my groundstrokes are dipping inside the line. I was serving bombs with this racket. Send me with a pm if anyone wants to try it

Had my first league match against a 3.5 player, with that racket, which i won 6/0 6/1. i was really surprised with my serve as I haven't had any double faults, which wasn't the case in the previous test matches. My opponent on the other side was very frustrated with his serve, in general, arguing all the time. Though to stay focused. In general his game was based on the "hop or top" principle, which means, either it works or not. Not plan B.
Anyway, the racket keeps shining for me, bringing control, power and a massive sweetspot. Maybe on small downside of that racket is, that you have to move into the right position prior ball contact because the racket is not as easy to maneuver as e.g. Boom Pro racket with a thinner profile as the Extreme (24/26/21 mm).

Do you know precisely or rougly what vere your end specs?

It is funny that they all seem to come at 265gr rather than 260… and spot on.
Just to compare and for fun I found a XT extreme lite to check the code and compare. Tgk285.12. Guess it is just .12 vs. .13 due to the paintjob but not sure.
Will customize this one differently. More weight and SW.

I still have my Elite and enjoying them.

What strings are you playing on your Elite's, guys?
I play Pure Rush 1.23 full bed (little stiff) and PR in a hybrid with YPTP 1.15, which is more my cup of tea.

Can't wait to try it, too bad I will be on a mini memorial day vacation in the Florida Keys SCUBA diving with family and no time for tennis. Will try to play next week with the frame for sure. I think the poly in that racquet has lost some tension as the head looks more round than my Gravity Pros ;)

Tried it this weekend doing some practice groundies and a set of doubles play. It is such an easier racquet to play with than my 2023 Head Gravity Pro's (GP). It feels a little stiffer but the nat gut/poly cross makes the feel so so good. Power and spin is there much more than the GPs. Serving was nice once I got used to it, a lot more action on the ball for sure. I will playtest it for one more weekend and it can travel to the next person hopefully here in Florida. I know there are a bunch of posters from my state ;)

Still very satisfied with the Head Extreme Elite in my setup, with Tru Pro 1.23 in the mains and yonex ptp 1.15 in the crosses. Played two matches at club level (single&double) at weekend. I won both matches and my team as well (4:2 in total)
I am still interested what string setup the other guys here in the forum are using.
Happy hitting!

Seems like there is not a lot of them out there, but most of the guys who used it really seem to have liked it

Another small update from my side on the "pro stock" Extreme Elite: I haven't lost any match this year with the stick and my shots with the stick are getting better and better. I have overcome the previously stated "clunkyness" of the racket and I am more then happy with it.
Updates from other players are welcome.

I don't play like Berrettini, so not for me.
