not sure as got my stringer to do it! i think they are ig radical grommets...will try and get some pics to attach
i know for the fact that the Microgel Radical grommet fit the RT630.... and the same CAP grommet also fit both the PT630 and RT630..... so the Microgel Radical grommet should fit the PT630 8-B
those are the ones yes....for some reason im struggling to attach a pic. My bad!

Hey everyone - thought I'd drop my two cents in.

I'll preface my comments by saying I have something of a love affair with the Pro Tour 630/PT57A.

Spans back to my junior and comp days using them and iPrestiges, etc. I've been trying to upload a photo of my collection but doesn't seem to be working for. Maybe this will work - PT57A Collection

Nonetheless, got a couple of Pro Tour 2.0 so I thought I'd share my first impressions after a couple of hits.

I echo the sentiments of some previous posters here in saying that it's definitely got PT630/PT57A DNA only in a more modern day interpretation. It's definitely stiffer (hitting side by side with one of my PT630) but NOWHERE near 65 RA that has been measured. It's crisp but not muted and you definitely get a smooth pocketing plow-through on ground strokes which is synonymous with the PT57A. Serves took a little while to dial in but that was more a function of user and not his equipment - isolation definitely hasn't helped here.

Another impression was it felt a little lighter when used side by side with the 630 but again the feeling for me was negligible and probably so much so I almost prefer at the moment hitting with the 2.0. I can't wait to see it perform with fresh strings (NG/Alu Power or RPM Blast setup) and maybe take one of my Head FC leather grips off which I more used to purely from a feel perspective.

Whoever from TW got those at Head to remake this should be given a great bonus as you've made a hell of a lot of us die hards real happy!

Ohhh thanks for doing that!

Re the colleciton my wife thinks I have a sickness lol.

I'm just wrapped they've re-released because as much as I love using them the thought of cracking a frame and struggling to replace them without paying drug money is something I didn't want to deal with.

Regarding your question I prefer the CAP grommet. Why? The aforementioned - frame protection primarily. I hate seeing chips and dents all over the frame (you'll get some obviously). I also prefer the heft the CAP gives over the half grommet but in all honestly it just doesn't feel/look right to use a PT630 or Prestige without a CAP. It's part of that frame's heritage. I put the half on at the time because the local shop didn't have a replacement. I actually have another Bumblebee which I couldn't find for the photo which I put a CAP on lol.

no probs dude.
i think most other halves of people over here has the same thoughts.
my wife thinks i am the same..... as i have been very "silly" over this lockdown period (past 10 weeks-ish) with over 10 Head racquet purchases & loads of CAP grommets (not hit with any of them yet..), and there is a brand new stringing machine and 5 reels of string in boxes sitting in the hallway atm.... :-D
i agree with the CAP as i used to play with a couple of Prestige MPs.... i tried to put on a TK293 grommet on a Bumblebee the other day... man, it was painful... maybe i should have soaked it in hot water abit longer 8-B

I've had the PT 2.0 for about a month now, mostly practicing with it against the wall. I've also been hitting with my trusty IG Prestige Mid, both in stock form. The PT 2.0 has more power and feels amazing when hit in the sweet spot, but call me crazy, the Prestige has a bigger sweet spot for me and feels even more buttery. Launch angle of Prestige is significantly lower, which I kind of like. The main negative I have with the PT 2.0 is that balls hit above the sweet spot feel particularly jarring on the arm because of how stiff the upper hoop is. It's weight in stock form with the CAP grommets (and leather grip) is already 340g, near my upper limit, but I wouldn't mind adding a few grams of tungsten to it if it can help make off-center shots feel less jarring. Any suggestions out there on where best to add the weight?

I would disagree about the size of the sweet spot but I believe it’s in a slightly different spot on the two frames. Maybe you prefer the location of the I.prestige. This can be tweaked with some balancing

TK231.

Fits, but not easy to install. They are slightly wider, however, very soft plastic therefore, will fit flush on the TK57...
Will shave off about 10g of weight and probably significant SW...

Haven’t tried rpm yet but really liked firestorm

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've tried both in an Angell TC95 16m. I enjoyed Firestorm but not so much RPM Power. Firestorm felt comfortable, lively (sometimes too much) and had decent amount of spin.

Finally got my numbers for my PT 2.0. I put a leather grip with overgrip, no dampener and switched out the pallets to a TK82s in 1/4 grip. 346.6 grams static, 32.0 cm balance (around 7.5-8 points HL) and 328 swingweight. Thought my swingweight would be higher. Maybe I can add a few grams of lead at the hoop to get it around 330ish. Hopefully this helps someone out.

What was your knock on rpm power? Seems like a good in between of rpm and rpm rough no?

I think I was attached to the name...the string did not deliver RPM. It was comfortable to play with but it didn't fit my swing. The strings started to get stuck out of place and spin did not come easy. Played like a synthetic/multi. I think this would fit more of a flat ball striker or someone that wants more durability but plays like a synthetic.

What strings have you liked the best? Am I doomed to return to Alu power rough?

lately in my 18x20 racquets I have been using Volkl vSquare/TierOne Ghostwire. Oddly enough, I don't mind a basic synthetic gut from time to time in those racquets as well and I well expect that it is a synthetic. Other set up in 18m, Gut/Poly.

I hope it works out for you. Just don't expect it to live up to part of it's name "RPM". You will get shots landing deeper into the court due to lack of spin IMO. I liked the feel of the string very much though

that makes sense. I play with a lot of spin and second these feelings after first hit impressions. good depth and felt like pace was nice but the ball wasn't jumping like normal. made the launch angle of the racket feel lower. Might like it after a few hit, maybe not. We will see.

I have been playing with the PT2.0 for almost 2 months now.
I am reluctant to say this but it plays best with Alu Power rough for me. Tried tonnes of string and setups. For a low spin frame the Alu power rough gives good whippage for a young strong stud like me.
don’t waste your time, full bed of Alu power rough at 50lbs and don’t look back.

May give that one a try. How long does that set up last you?

Did you try RS Lyon 1.20?

All power is good but looses a lot of tension and pops quick

Finally someone mentions RS Lyon 1.20
This has been my stint for the past 2 years. Loving every part of it. Chose this over Alu Power.
I have been stringing it at 48lbs on my PT630. Just ordered my PT 2.0 can't wait to try it.

What's your tension?

Thank you for bringing this up. With about 30 hours with this frame, I am totally convinced that spin friendly string is absolutely imperative. I will try allu rough for the first time ever.

On a separate note, I have a question to you all, did anyone tried skipping the top cross when stringing? That jarring feel at the top of the tip on contact is quite annoying, would skipping the top cross help to combat the issue?

Got my second PT 2.0 - 12oz even like my first but with a more normal 6hl balance. This time stock string job feels better, clearly more settled in after laying around.

Squared up the grip again, but left the lead off and headed out to the court.

NIICE, I did end up adding a smidge just bellow 3&9 center for a bit more confidence in the lower loop, but most people won't need that.

Not sure if I'll keep playing it like this or match it to my first, but at this point, I'm sure I'm making PT2.0 my main. It just plays solid everywhere on the court.

very honest review

My experience has been similar. I used to play the type of game this racquet requires but I’m slowing down and evolving to racquets that allow me to make those adjustments. I play mostly 4.0 singles and doubles and at that level players do some unorthodox things. Their unpredictability forces me to have to adjust. Lighter and more spin friendly racquets allow me to control the points.

In a nutshell, I need a larger margin of error all over the court from groundstrokes, volleys, and serves. The PT 2.0 is too hefty for me these days and my slower footwork requires my swings to compensate.

Yeah, its the most hype free appraisal of the racquet that I've seen.

Nice channel as well with some good coaching videos:

Well, if a player feels that his footwork is too slow for a 18x20 hefty racquet he shouldn't even consider trying the PT 2.0 ...

I bet I’m faster than a large majority of the people on this forum too. I’ve just recently quit lying to myself and started playing racquets that are easier to handle for a majority of the matches I play.

Last year at this time, I was playing a 13.4oz racquet and winning most of my matches. I’m not using an under 11oz racquet and playing the best tennis of my life. I only miss the heft when I face that rare player who hits extremely hard. There’s only a couple of them on my team. I haven’t lost to them yet but 12+ oz would make returning their serves much easier. As is, I just have to have great timing which isn’t a big problem. I’m not going back anytime soon.

I wouldn't worry about it - the players in that video I linked to are former D1 college players, challenger level players, ATP ranked players etc - and they don't think that the racquet is that great or the easiest to use either. Yet, you'll always have a 50 y/o weekend warrior on a message board claiming that they play amazing tennis with a 95sq" 18x20 tiny sweetspot racquet, and claiming its just down to good footwork etc. Some people just aren't very aware about their own limitations or playing level!
