Head Pro Tour 2.0 - Ask Us All Your Questions! (podcast now here!)

I wonder how much harder this is going to be to use than the Blade 18x20

TW have given this thing an 85 power rating which is much higher than you’d expect

Oh cool podcast is out already - well i don't know about what they received, but i legitimately have the racquet already, and it's a TK82S

Well i'm pretty sure it is, it looks and feels the same to my Speed, Gravity and Prestige

Edit: nope so sorry haha i am wrong, i just pulled it apart, and it's a TK82 - i think i got confused because i got grip 2, and the last one i used as a grip 4 which was may more prominent in shape
Ok, interesting. Might be a question of feel. A friend of mine barely feels the difference between the tk82 and 82s where to me it’s a world of difference (I much prefer the traditional TK82). With comments shared by playtesters and some knowledgeable folks on this board, it sounds like it has the traditional pallet.

Yeah nah it's an TK82 apologies, edited my message above - i used to have a TK82 in grip 4, and it felt very weird to me, but having this at grip 2 i feel no difference at all

"Pros have been playing with this same mold for years"

Michelle’s only contribution to the podcast is that if you can swing it you’re hot
Yep, that's all I bring to the table :)

Thanks for listening! :)

@TW Staff - Hopefully all of you know that for every stupid comment made by someone here or on your youtube videos, there's at least 100 other people who truly appreciate what you guys do. We're just not usually as loud.
@nohandedbackhand

Thanks for the love and reminder ;) We appreciate you guys as well! And love that you guys geek out as much as we do :)

Are the pallets on this going to be changeable?

Looking forward to getting one to compare to my pt630 and 280. I took the caps off one of my old ones and that significantly reduced the sw for those interested. The caps are about 10-12grams iirc.
Also have a spare tk76 pallet might use it.

The mass of the racquet will give you power if you take a full swing.

For sure. I miss my 6.1 95's mass–power. Quietly hoping this PT2.0 might provide all the things I love about the 6.1 in a slightly lighter, sexier package.
And if not, I'll just hang it on the wall and ogle the paint.

If you’re getting more than one it’s cheaper to buy from tennis warehouse Europe. Yes you have to pay shipping buts it still a good amount cheaper. And I only bought 2 so others can have a chance to get one.

I dont see TWEU multi-racquet discount now

Honestly I could probably buy into the 65 feeling a lot softer, especially with that great swingweight; this doesn't sound like a recreation of any one of the PT280/630/57 variants so much a as a hybrid of several of them in retail form. Maybe it plays like a slightly softer i.Prestige? If so I'd be pretty happy. Not sure if this has been asked already, but I'd love to know if it's foam-filled. Has anyone popped the buttcap off to check yet?

I appreciate the trouble somebody has gone to in order to get us this run. Still one of the prettiest paintjobs of the past few decades, but at 65RA I won't be pulling the trigger. I hope everyone else who's bought one (or two) enjoys them. It was always about feel with my PT630 and if it's not even close to my stick in terms of flex I can't imagine it'd feel similar at all.

If its stiffness is 65RA strung, with that extremely tight string pattern, would it be as comfortable as Prestige 360+ ?

I think you have to know how to moderate a little ..
ask several questions
for me there are three types of people interested in this PT630 2.0
the first part, those who have already played with this frame and liked the impression of softness that it gives off. and who will be disappointed with 2.0

the second who has never played with PT630 MIA twaron, but who say that if it is such a sought after frame (for what reasons?) is that it must be really good. those there, will necessarily find this 2.0 great .. because it will be a great frame. what many have been asking for a long time (a commercial version of a modern PT67)

Finally, the 3rd category which says that this frame has served as a mold for so many pro stock head frames, that necessarily, it must be super good .. and will have exactly what they expect. and will be happy with it.

so, my opinion.
I think those who know the PT630, and who are looking to have the same thing. and not something else, as if you like ground beef steak, and you were served a beef-colored beef-flavored soy steak !. it will look like it, maybe, it will have the shape, the color, but it will only be an imitation and not the taste, not the texture. but will it be disgusting? no! a bit like the radical anniversary tour compared to the original radical tour. the same color, the same shape, the same weight, but inside, it's not the same !. (I tried both, mine (v 2018) and the original (v 1993), it looks like it, a lot, in the hand, it's the same thing, on the court, it's not all the same thing. the 2018 v is drier, less soft, .. there is something different.

I'm afraid the PT630 2.0 is also different.

my brother played quite a bit with PT630, and one day he praised one. he then tried to find one, it was complicated, he then tried to buy on a well-known site that sells pro stock, a PT57, with a PJ prestige XT I think. on paper all the same (prestige a bit heavier). but on the ground he found it to be an eyesore (compared to his second PT630). from there to say that the pro stock PT57 was zero, no .. just that it played different. it was not a PT630!

there, I think it's a bit the same principle.
we make a PT630. but it is not a PT630.
head maybe should (pu?) make a PT57, with an 18/20 plan, and call it pt57 ... instead of misleading people on an interpretation of the original PT630 .. (like the radical tour anniversary version is only an interpretation of the original radical tour.

That sneak racquetmad on the bay attempting to sell them on fleabay for 3xtimes they are worth yet they are available for sale at TW tennis only. Should be reported and banned from trading forever.

Yeah it drives me insane scrolling through pages and pages of his overpriced racquets. He’s got almost 400 racquets on there out of only 2700.

Agreed, deliberately lists 20 in a row to cover the search page, but people are aware and recognise his a.) high prices, and b.) that ugly brown carpet lol
Good luck to him selling them for those prices when TW have them hahaha

RA is just an indicator of how you perceive frame stiffness.
Another metric that is just as important, is the vibration frequency.

The PT 2.0 has a low vibration frequency of 136 hz.

And if you look at through the list, you'll see that TT favorites like the IG Prestige, Youtek and Microgel MP and Mid, all have much higher vibration frequency numbers, and only a few have slightly lower RA.

Ime, vibration frequency is a much better indicator of perceived frame stiffness than RA.
I'm getting one for sure, as for me, there's no clear correlation between (super) low frame stiffness and the illustrious holy grail feel.

I was lucky to receive a Pro Tour 2.0 about a week ago. Strung with a leather grip that I put on I get 63RA. TW’s RDC machine is always higher than my RDC my machine. After having played with it 63RA feels right to me. It’s pretty plush and not harsh playing. It’s got that 57A DNA in there
Which one do you prefer at this point? New Prestige or PT2.0?
