Hi everyone,
I’m currently playing with a Head Graphene 360 Radical Pro uncustomized , 334g with two Prime Tour overgrips, but I’m looking to transition to the 2024 Extreme Pro. My main reason for the switch is that I'm looking for a noticeably higher launch angle. The Radical hits a great ball, but the launch angle is just too low for my liking because of how dense the string pattern is in the center.
I actually demoed the 2024 Extreme Pro last summer. During the playtest, I felt that the racquet head was accelerating way too fast through the contact zone. To be fair, the demo was completely stock and uncustomized, with a swingweight sitting around 320.
My plan is to add a silicone / leather replacement grip and some lead tape to bump the static weight up to around 340g to slow down that acceleration and add plow-through.
For those who have customized the new Extreme Pro: Do you think a 2024 Extreme Pro, brought up to 340g with lead and a silicone / leather grip, can feel as rock-solid and stable on impact as the Graphene 360 Radical Pro? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!
