GREETINGS

1. Your comments on Luxilon Alu Power (main) and MLT Reflex (cross) hybrid? I use this set up at 54lbs tension on both strings in my Babolat Pure Strike VS? And suggestions/comments?

2. Should MLT be in main or cross if used as hybrid to get the most spin and control? What about for power?

3. What is the best combination with MLT for a hybrid set up?

4. I find MLT in a set package much more soft and flexible then one cut from the reel. Do the sets have better quality than reels?

5. Anyone plays with MLT full bed? Pros and cons, please.

Can’t speak for Reflex but I play with Alu Power mains and Velocity MLT cross, both at 48 lbs, and love the setup. Great spin and control, sufficient power. (To me, 54 lbs for Alu Power mains seems high.)

I have done Velocity main with a poly cross, and that changes the feel quite a bit. Personally, I wouldn’t use Alu Power as a cross because its benefits wouldn’t be as apparent. Might as well use a cheaper poly for a cross.

I wouldn’t be able to answer questions 3-5!

Yes I was also contemplating either lowering ALU tennsion or even dropping them for a good rough textured string.

I used reflex FB and liked it. It's very close to NG's playability. The only issue is the cross frays badly, now I'm using Reflex 16 56 lb in main and Velocity 16 54 lb in cross. I also use NXT main and Velocity cross too.
