Hey guys, thanks for the reply.. but I wanted something to lighten the racquet I guess.. so I was wondering whether it would be an option for me to swap the cap grommet for just the normal xt radical pro grommet..

Do you guys know whether it will fit?

Grommet sets between 18x20 radical MPs and 18x20 Prestige MPs are all interchangeable. I swapped them out all the time BITD.

Anyone know if the graphene touch/xt radical pro grommet will fit the radical ig pro

As far as we know, the Graphene/Graphene XT grommets will not fit IG models due to the Dynamic String pattern technology (puts 8 mains in the heart of the racquet to provide the control of a tight string pattern) as the drilling of the string pattern is slightly different.

bc-05,

Let me follow up with our Head rep but I am not sure we carry any that will fit. I will update this thread when I hear back.

Thanks,

@bc-05 You can always cut the grommets enough where you can still use the "grommet" part of them but get rid of the excess weight. I remember somebody in this forum did it with good results.

None of the current will fit. If not “prostock” grommets.
You can trim the grommets as FedGR says. I did it and it removes around 8gr.

Anyone have instruction on how to do it? Because it sounds interesting if i am able to cut 8 grams.. any grams cut would be helpful since im changing the way i play now.

Is Head MicroGEL Radical Pro Mid+ Grommet capped or not? Description does not say it is capped.

If you decide to trim the caps, you need to soften the plastic before cutting. Put the caps in a pot of hot water, about 120 F max and let the hot water soften the plastic. Then cut using a sharp pair of kitchen shears. Repeatedly soften the plastic as you trim.

Just followed up with our Head rep. Unfortunately, there are no non capped grommets that will fit available.

Sorry,
