There's simply no one who can match Sabalenka's brute force on the court at the moment. If she's on, it's basically over. Kudos to Pegula for making her play two fairly tight sets to win the US Open, and Navarro for making her play that tiebreak - but I don't think the result was ever in doubt. Just a force of nature.

She goes for three straight down under in early 2025.....last woman to do that was the Swiss Miss, Martina Hingis ('97, '98, '99).

Women's tennis is such a crap shoot from one day to the next. One day GS champ another day lose first round. In Sabalenka's case I think it's all mental as far as where she goes from here.

Agree with this. She's too fragile to make long runs at the top. On her game, she's a threat to anyone... including Sabalenka. Only trouble is, how often does Rybakina hit that stride?
