It only really occurs in the left shoe and this is bearing in mind I went down a half size from my usual trainer. Consequently, I noticed that after my first session with the shoes on I had significant ankle/lower calf pain. Can anyone recommend some sort of heel grip to stop the slippage completely, while remaining durable enough to last more than a few hours? And yes, I have tried lock lacing which has helped somewhat.

i say your foot is different size. i just got them and they are awesome. i might be addicted to lighter shoes now......

I wear gr4 and yes.. heel slippage occur when the shoe is new. After a longer break in period.. it will mold into your feet and the bending will get better and stop the heel from slipping. You can swap out the insole with aftermarket insole. Many insole tend to be too thick at the heel and will cause more slippage.

p.s. put them over insole, not under insole (dont worry, silicone will stick very firmly to insole and it will not move.

Agree here. Better after break in.

I used super feet orange in mine and they felt great. These and Vapor 9s still my fave two shoes.
