Hello All, New Tennis Pro

This sounds interesting, but I figured this might be a good resource here at the TT fourms. I'm actually a tennis pro (teaching), a hopefully decent one:), and I was looking for networking with other tennis pros, club owners, etc. I'm actually employed full time in the industry and have some decent offers to move to other positions, but I'm just looking for something interesting....

With that being said, if anyone knows of anything let me know, or if anyone else in the industry has any clever ideas or big plans I'd love to talk...please message me. I know I'm lucky to have a job in the economic climate, but I figured it never hurts to look.

Also, I figured I'll start posting more, so you'll mostly see me in the instruction section, so if you have any questions, hit me up for tips, hopefully I could be a little help.

A bit about me...I was a D1 player, then transferred to a NAIA school, where i was an all american. I was also a coach at two college. I've been teaching full time for 6 years, but I still have a lot to learn. Well anyways Hi! Nice to be here.

What good are you if you don't start answering all the questions posted on this forum?
Start with the guy who thinks he can make 5.0 in one year, then fix everyone's backhand off high balls, and remedy everyone's weak serves......:)

Hi

Welcome to the forums, sounds like a similar background to me (although I'm Australian and was never anywhere near good enough to make all american!)

I have to ask, though, what do you make of Oscar Wegner?

(be REALLY careful how you answer this one, lol)

I always thought tennis was so funny, everyone wants to get so good (5.0)+, they don't realize that the better they get the field of people to hit with gets smaller. So in a way 3.5-4.0 players have it made, and even at that level the variety of type of player and playing style greatly varies, so thats great! I never think of player development as a process, I just try to make sure they have a good time, sweat, and get a little bit better each time they play. So pretty simple.

Oscar Wegner, let me think about that one. I'll be honest though, I think a lot of the USPTA/PTR stuff is beyond silly... but thats a whole different story.

Also, if my typing/english is a bit off I apologize. I speak the language well, but it is my second, so sometimes I make mistakes when writing.

I take it you're near St. Louis (from your other post about open tourneys...). Exactly where are you at. Care for a hit??

Now post a video of yourself hitting under a different username so everyone can watch and call you a 3.0, then go BAZINGA on them

Welcome RK!

Always great to get another coach's opinion on matters, we've had some interesting discussion recently around a range of topics (and some complete trainwrecks too!)

Welcome and get stuck in!!!

Cheers

Welcome.

There's a nice (informative, pleasant, no flaming) discussion on some technical aspects of 2hbhs going on right now. That would be a good place to jump in with your thoughts.
