Hello! Has anyone tried the new Asics FF solution Speed 2 VS the original Speed solution 2?

The original solution Speed 2 from 2015 were quite possibly the greatest tennis shoe I have ever worn. Has anyone out there tried the new FF SS 2 that just came out and had you
tried the originals and how do they compare? Thanks!

Yes I tried. The new FF SS 2 felt more rubbery , lets snug fit and can sometimes make noises when you are walking. Not sure if that noise wears away as i quickly returned them.

FWIW im playing with the Babolat propulse fury 2 now. Its a great shoe. At first i thought it was going to be too bulky and clumsy feeling when i tried them on and even in warmups but i quickly came to love them .

How is the ventilation? I've been wearing the Gel Resolution since 2012 and wanted to try the Speed. The main thing stopping me is the ventilation has consistently been rated better on the Resolution. TIA.

I've come to find this is a good shoe (mine have improved with an insole swap) so far but not as effortlessly perfect as the 2. If people are into the clay version, it grips the dirt better than any shoe I've ever tried.

I recently got the speed 2.. I usually wear the gel Res 8. I found the speed 2 to be very light with decent stability. However, I feel much more secured and stable with the gel Res. It's not to say that I had issues with the speed 2, but it was just constantly in the back of my head that the gel Res gave me so much confidence in chasing down balls. Ventilation wise, without a doubt better than gel res

I find quite the opposite.
Used to play with the Gel Res 7, but tried the Gel Res 8 and they felt a little wobbly. The soles are about the same width at the widest part as the Gel Res 7.
I would compare the width of the SS2 to the Nike Vapor X. The Solution Speed 2 is much wider at the widest part so it gives that extra later stability. The upper mesh is much softer than both the GR7 and the GR8 however I don't find that it causes less stability.
