Volandri in Palermo 2006Wow, congrats to Sinner the Winner on a dominant performance on home soil in front of the home crowd. When was the last time an Italian player won in Italy? Panatta at the 1976 Italian Open?

Grazie.Volandri in Palermo 2006
Italy is loaded in the top 100. Sinner is numero setteDavis Cup Finals are best of three, so that makes it easy.I have thread in General Pro on subject:
That was a prepared line if ever there was one.He literally said he needs to prepare for the next year in his speech.
Look I don't claim to have full insider knowledge of the situation... you also have to consider that the DC team, the NextGen event and Supertennis, the TV channel that covers it, are all within the purview of the infamous FIT - the Italian Tennis Federation. And knowing their history, it's entirely possible that they just royally F****D UP, and that now, given the public upheaval in light of Sinner's performance in Milan, they are orchestrating some kind of cover-their-a$$es plan. I suppose it's also conceivable that in the next couple of days someone gets "injured", or Flavia has pregnancy issues, or Seppi gets lost in the Colorado mountains and... Lo and behold: Sinner is playing singles against Shapo in a week. That was a prepared line if ever there was one.Looked to coach for approval. This unbelievably appears to have been discussed beforehand and we do have Bungle's takes from the hotbed that is Italian tennis fandom
Gingers rule. He's ginger. That's a phenom to me
Easy there, RickI love Sinner's backhand. Easy pace, easy defence, easy cross court, easy down the line, easy taking it early
It wasn't just in Milan, it was IN THAT SAME BUILDING.fedr’s first ATP title was won in Milan!

Molto grazie! Signora Sinner was inspired that day and six months later kept her side of the bargain! It wasn't just in Milan, it was IN THAT SAME BUILDING.
The date was February 5, 2001. Mrs. Siglinde Sinner had just returned home from her first-trimester ultrasound, when she switched on the TV and... OK, OK, whatever.
But the 2001 Milan ATP was indeed held at the renovated Palalido, for the very first time (recent editions, prior to the 3-year hiatus when the event was moved to London, had been played at the much bigger Palatrussardi and Assago Forum). The tournament existed until 2004. By 2010, the Palalido had fallen into disrepair, and for years efforts to renovate it proved unsuccessful. Giorgio Armani had personally offered to fund renovation with the intent of moving his basketball team there, but he eventually pulled out frustrated by delays and bureaucratic complexities. Finally, in 2018, work got underway. In the summer of 2019 the building was reopened as the Allianz Cloud. The 2019 Next Gen ATP FInals was the very first tennis event ever to be held in the new facility.
Just a bit more detail for those punctilious omenologists...

The only thing I know for sure is that if Barazzutti actually chose to exclude Sinner on merit (he HAS shown a tendency to pick strictly by ranking...), he needs to be fired instantly... and possibly committed.
