I have narrow feet and I keep getting blisters on my big toes from shoes that have too much room in the toe box for me! I'm quite miserable because of this... as soon as my toes heal I acquire new ones.... :(

I used light "cross-training" shoes (New Balance mostly), some cheap Wilson tennis shoes from Big5 and recently I purchased the Fila Prossimo and Prince QT low from TW. I was trying to be economical and get shoes under $60.
Well, the Fila Prossimo are quite nice and they fit snugly with the exception that my heel keeps coming out - I think I'm between numbers with Fila.
The Prince QT are also nice but the forefoot is not held snugly in place so my toes have lots of room to move, hence the blisters...
I like the QT best and I keep using them until I find something else but I know they are not the right shoes for me.

So, can anyone please suggest some good shoes for narrow feet that keep the forefoot snug in place but without being too tight ?? thanks !!

How about mi addidas? they can do a barricade in narrow, medium and wide....the wide suits me better than medium. That way i get good fit but without having to go up 1/2 a size which would cause blisters.

Narrower shoes from memory were possibly the asics challengers 6.

since you are in bay area why not try some at Swetka or Golf smith and order from TW.. perfect way to try and save money

I've always had good luck with Nike shoes for narrowness both for running shoes and tennis shoes. My hubby also has a narrow foot and bought some Nike tennis shoes as well.

Yes, I'm planning to do that too... Unfortunately Swetka is out of my way and my local golf smith has a very limited selection. There's a small place in Albany though that has more shoes.

Thanks! Any particular model from Nike you'd recommend ? What did you husband get ?

I'm really bad with all these names; but I think he got Air Zoom Court

and I have Air Max Breath Cage

Who comes up with these names?

I had same problem as you. I buy cheap shoes from Big5 too. Right now I'm buying them a tad big to get that room in the toes. But have to wear two pairs of socks. Tape your toes with that cheap white medical tape to prevent blisters, just wrap around ur toes once. I haven't had blisters since doing that.

You might want to try using a silicone toe cap: http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tec-Toe-Caps-Silicone-Protectors/dp/B000G6TQ0S
I have a friend who finds the silicone toe caps very effective towards preventing blisters and toe turf when playing competitive soccer.
How's the ventilation on your current tennis shoes? Increase moisture hastens slippage, abrasions, and ultimately blisters. The toe caps should work but ultimately you want to find better tennis shoes.

Thicker inserts? New Balance has an amazingly supportive & cushy insert for $30. It does significantly cut down on the room in the toe box. Unfortunately, too much for my shoes, I will have to buy larger to accommodate them. They are called "Pressure Relief Performance Insoles". There are other NB's that are thinner; only these really take up space in the shoe. Bring your shoes to the NB Store and give them a try. The nice thing is, assuming they do the trick for you, is that your fitment problem should be solved no matter what shoe you wear, and they will vastly improve the value-priced shoes you like. Good luck.
