Help finding alternative for Volkl V-Torque Tour

Hi all!

I have been playing with Volkl V-Torque Tour 17/1.25mm for a few months now. Really love this string: great feel and spin potential while being easy on the arm. The main issue I have is the durability, it only lasts 6 hours before it breaks!

What would be the best alternative? I'm looking for something soft, and as close as possible in feel and performance (spin) as Volkl V-Torque Tour, but that would last longer.

I play with a Wilson Clash 100 (24kg / 53lbs tension).

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!

Why not try 16g VTT?
Also maybe try regular V-torque, I don't think it's quite as soft but it isn't harsh. I liked it.
So maybe it will be more durable.

Diadem solstice power is star shaped I believe, I have a set but haven't used it yet.

Thanks a lot Chairman - I guess will try the 16g first before changing strings, hopefully it lasts longer!

And thanks for the suggestion re alternative strings, will have a look as well!

I did like VTT and ALU Power Soft at the same time so that's that. APS is a bit stiffer though. I think cyclone is similar in spin and comfort but doesn't last long either. There likely isn't any string that's both comfortable and stays playable for a long time. Maybe try a stiffer string at thinner gauge.

You might want to try a stiffer more durable string in the mains and a softer slicker string in the crosses to make it more comfortable.

I finally found a great poly/poly combo in my Blades (V8 16x19). I have Toroline Wasabi green 17g (4 sided, slick) in the mains and TruePro (formerly Tier One) Ghostwire 16g in the crosses. Ghostwire is pretty soft, but it's so slick, that when paired with another slick main it doesn't get sawed into. I'm pretty sure a full bed of Wasabi would be too stiff for my arm but Ghostwire makes the difference.

Good feel and spin from the Wasabi, and good comfort, power from the Ghostwire. And it lasts quite a long time. The first time I used this combo, I wanted to see how long it would last so I played it to the very end. No joke, after 28 hours or so of court time, it still wasn't notching. The snapback is terrific from beginning to end. Yes it will lose tension and get a little launchy eventually, but you won't be cutting it out because it's lost its spin and snapback performance.

So I tried today Volkl V-Torque Tour 16. I found the difference was massive compared to the 17 gauge: could not keep anything on court, too much power!
