Help, getting back into tennis

Hey, I played Ultra 2's in High School (back in late 80's) and now I'm getting back into the game. I got my ol boy's restrung and I don't know if I can handle the unforgiving Ultra 2's.

Any suggestions? I'm more of a baseline player who swings too hard with his forehand. I've tinkered around this forum but need help finding a racquet for this "older" guy.

I do like the looks of the K factro K Pro.

I'm going to demo a few sticks this weekend so I'm open for any suggestions. TIA.

Something in the tweener range, probably. As your fitness is (probably) lower and age (definitely) higher than it used to be, going into the 300-320g range is where I would start looking. Not knowing your actual play style, it's hard to recommend anything, really. Do you hit flat or spin? String density preference? Here's one list to get you started.

Thanks for all the suggestions already! I hit with more top spin with my forehand, and it seems my two handed back hand has decided to retire, so I just hit slice backhands to get the damn ball back in play.

The sad thing is m Ultra 2's are still in great shape and are fun to hit, I just don't have the "fitness" to get the most out of them.:(

I got back into tennis 5.5 years ago after a long layoff. The fitness takes a while to come back. If I had to do it again, I'd try mixing in some doubles matches with the singles versus playing all singles.

After my college career ended, I took the next 13 years off from tennis...didn't pick up a racquet. The Wilson K Factor Six-One has done well for me. Occasionally, I will break out my Prince Original Graphite Mid's to practice with, but the shoulder isn't happy. As for the 2HBH, make sure to get your racquet back early and that you're making a full turn with your shoulders on the backswing.
