Help me choose a hybrid.

I'm an all courter with heavy topspin and the baseline, and touch volleys at the net 5.0-5.5 rated junior (by coach).

I was planning to use a poly/syn gut hybrid. I was hoping the Poly in the mains could really help with the spin production, and the synthetic gut crosses could help with the feel at net. Also, I'm looking for a soft combination. (I know it won't be too soft because of the poly, but the softest?)

So..

Low on power
High on Control
Good Spin
Soft Combination
GOod Feel at net

Poly
Signum Pro Poly-Speed Spin
Isospeed Baseline Control
Topspin Cyber Flash

Syn Gut
FOrten Sweet
Wilson Extreme
Gosen OG
Pro Supex Synthetic Gut Titan
Pro Supex Synthetic Gut Spiral FLex

For the poly, why not Big Ace? Also, I would probably say from the Signum Pro line, Poly Plasma is a little better for what you would like overall, maybe the Hextreme version.

Syn gut...Spiral Flex all the way!

Softest poly IMO is SPPP. But don't cross it with FS, this combo is so soft it's mushy. Cross it with something crisper.

What's you usual tension range?

Usual's around 60. And I sort of can't get a "mushy" feeling because the K90 creates a crisp feeling out of every string.

Thanks for that. I was just about to choose that.

i am using a very similar setup right now on 2 of my racquets, and it plays great, plenty of control from the copoly mains and the soft touch i like on the crosses, the forten i use is very soft, thats why it works for me, someone mentioned that forten sweet was very simlar to it
i have the following (copoly/nylon hybrid)
17g topspin cyberflash mains @ 56lbs
16g forten nylon crosses @ 60lbs
this is on a 110 square inch prokennex graphite racquet

i am aslo using (copoly/multi hybrid):
17g topspin cyberflash @54lbs
16g wilson sensation @58lbs

out fo the two, i like the topspin/forten combo for 2 reasons,
1 soft volleys, or just as soft as the multy
2 very cheap in comperason to the multi

mista-k

Rookie
1.20mm cyberflashtops mains
1.22 gosen micro crosses
my main setup plus very cost effective coz I get them in reels. (I have extreme western grip gives me tons of spin)
imho...any good poly in mains with gosen crosses (you get more than what you paid for for gosen gen reels)
+no tennis elbow so far (x lux user)
also...weiss cannon as mains is good (xcellent control)
--supex bigace is also good but a little too soft and trampoleeny although NOT mushy<huh?

Guys, thanks for all the help, but I have one more question.

Should I go with ...

Topspin Cyber Flash - Gosen OG Sheep Micro

or ...

Isospeed Baseline Control - Forten Synthetic Gut Sweet

so you dont spend too much on strings you dont like, i suggest you buy "a set" of each of the 4 you mentioned last, since you think thoes are the ones that appeal to you more, and try them out
strings are all about personal choise really, so is tension
1 set will give you 2 racquets on the mains if you go with a hybrid setup, then you can decided with you preffer and then buy the reel

I guess, but I just don't want to spend that extra on shipping. And Isospeed doesn't come in sets. Well, I guess Isospeed and Forten is more cost effective as well. Thanks for all the help

If you have to do poly I would try Pro Hurricane(not the yellow tour crap) and Xcel mix. This mix is softer than pro hurricane tour and xcel.
